Cons: Add a sitting chair in the semi-private rooms.

I had a semi-private room which was quite appropriate for my needs. The location is just perfect.

Great locationPosted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: Great location and quiet. Lots of great restaurants and bars around the corner.
Cons: Mice in the Room NOT a good thing!
Location: Central part, Natural History Museum, Banksy artwork on 79th and Broadway.
Great location, very near central park if you were planning to get a few morning runs in too. All great apart from the mouse running across the room the last day se were there.

Nice hotel, quiet neighborhood.Posted Apr 11, 2015
Pros: Nice location. Quiet and safe. Very walkable part of the city.
Cons: Elevator. The one they have is small and slow.
Location: Lots of restaurants, bars and museums nearby. The subway is only a few blocks away and cabs are everwhere.
My wife and I went to NYC for a couple of days R&R. This was our first stay in this hotel. For an older building the room was comfortable, and for New York, it was fairly big. You don't have to turn sideways to walk past the bed (as you might have to do at a lot of NYC hotel rooms). The bathroom was small but sufficient. The staff was helpful and attentive. The cost wasn't too bad given the location and the amenities provided. The view out of room 615 was nothing to write home about, but that was OK. The hotel is in the Upper West side of Manhattan in a very walkable part of the city. Museums, restaurants, nightlife - just a walk away. The only drawback I can think of is that there is only one elevator in the hotel, and it is small and slow. We would stay here again.

Decent location for getting aroundPosted Apr 10, 2015
Cons: TV a bit dated and signal not great.
Location: Easy walk to Central Park, transport, good bars in Amsterdam & Columbus Aves. Favourites definitely McAleer's (Amsterdam) & Prohibition (Columbus).
Park 79 is in a good location for bars and public transport and, in particular, Central Park - the neighbourhood is quite expensive and space is at a premium which shows in room sizes. I was quite surprised when I realised just how small my one-bed room was. Having said that it was clean and the staff very pleasant with one in particular giving good advice about local cafes & bars. If booking this hotel, be aware that that is it really about being a place to sleep, there are no public rooms, bar or catering beyond coffee & tea being available in reception first thing in the morning.

Sfeervol hotelletje in mooie wijkPosted Apr 10, 2015
Pros: De oude stijl, goede staat, vriendelijke mensen en de ligging ( goede wijk/locatie)
Cons: De douche kraan. Werd soms niet warm. En de kofie en thee automaat( niet te drinken)
Location: Locatie prima, naast centralpark.

Park 79 Hotel is lovelyPosted Apr 9, 2015
Location: Museum of Natural History, Central Park. Less than two blocks from the subway (1 train). Ten minutes to Times Square or Rockerfeller Center.
We had an excellent 4 night stay at the Park 79 hotel. We brought our 10 month old son with us and the staff were very accommodating to his needs, getting us a fridge set up in the room for his bottles for no additional cost, as well as bringing us extra bedding and towels when he got sick one night. They were courteous and friendly out-of-their-way helpful to the guests and even people passing by on the street in need of directions. The location is perfect, a quaint neighborhood on the upper west side with everything you could need, and only two blocks from Central Park. A ten minute subway to Times Square. Our daughter is in college in the city and we will stay here the next time we visit. Great price, great location and staff who seem to take real pride in their hotel.

Wonderful personnel!Posted Apr 1, 2015
Free coffee served at the lobby every morning, busy but very nice service personnel! Cosy room, quite small but no need to be a big room for only sleeping. Easy to get to subway stations as well as to bus stops.
