Love this location on Central Park southPosted Mar 5, 2014
This location is perfect for the areas of NYC we wanted to see - Todd English's Food Hall is very close, providing a wonderful lunch/dinner option. The view of the park was great. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating.

Comfortable Hotel next to Central ParkPosted Mar 4, 2014
Pros: Cleanliness, comfortable bed, free upgrade to a king bed when all queens were taken, excellent heating/cooling, location, friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: Nothing in particular.
Location: Next to Central Park South, Lincoln Center six blocks away, Frick Museum, MOMA, Broadway shows fifteen blocks, Met Art Museum, Natural History Museum.
We stayed at the Park Lane at the beginning of March, 2014 for two nights. Our experience was quite good although we really only used the hotel as a place to sleep and no other services other than holding our bags for several hours on our last day. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, the bathroom well-appointed and the heat/cooling worked extremely well and evenly throughout the room. We picked the hotel through Expedia and the pricing was exactly right. My wife made the error of putting our water bottles in the mini-fridge without reading the sign on the fridge door warning about charges for disturbing the contents, so our bill arrived under the door with about twenty mini-bar charges. She went to the front desk and they removed them with no fuss or questions. It's too bad that so many hotels have gone to this style of charging as the non-refrigerated foods for purchase are still basically honor system but I understand their problem.

Security SucksPosted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: not alot
Virtually no visible security seen except for a single time I entered the elevators late at night. Even at 1100 PM at night on several nights, I entered the elevator multiple times and was never questioned. maybe they have an eye in ceiling but......

Cons: Bath rooms need updating. Charging for internet us inappropriate today. Lower price hotels provide free internet. Television is sub par.
Hotel needs to improve. Supposed luxury hotel but only had one person handling a line of check ins. Room just ok. Television is old. Bathrooms need to be updated.

Great hotel with great locationPosted Feb 28, 2014
The staff was great at all times. The room had a great size for a Manhattan hotel and the bed was really comfortable. It is located at a privilege spot in Manhattan.

Nice old hotel close to the central park.Posted Feb 26, 2014
Cons: the room we stayed was pretty old but can't complain because the price was awesome
Location: perfect location in Manhattan. We have 16 months old baby so it's perfect to walk around the central park even though it was super cold.
The hotel is a little bit old than what I saw on web pictures, so I needed to walk out and double check if it's the right one. Everyone in the hotel was friendly.

Amazing viewPosted Feb 25, 2014
Pros: Great location close to Central Park.
Cons: There is no complimentary wi-fi! Paying 14 USD a day just to use internet for 15 minutes (that's all we need to plan our day) is too expensive.
We got a room on 39th floor with an amazing view of Manhattan.

Hotel at the southern tip of central parkPosted Feb 25, 2014
Pros: The view from the room & comfort of the bed.
Cons: Complimentary tea + coffee making facilities would be appreciated, but this could be an English thing!
Location: Absolutely loads! Central park is the other side of the street. Recommend the Plaza below the Plaza Hotel - get crepes from Viva le Crepe!
Excellent stay from start to finish. Had a city side room on the 35th floor (had previously read to ask for higher floors at the reception on checking in, so did just that!). Comfortable+queen sized bed, great views and a clean bathroom. Didn't spend any time in the hotel other than to sleep, as I was in NYC (and therefore, you need to be out exploring!). Great place to base yourself for a NYC trip ... especially with it being so central.

Nice but weatheredPosted Feb 25, 2014
Cons: Needs to be updated!
Have not stayed there in 25 years. It feels as if it has not changed. Nor been updated! All was fine, but just felt run down. For the price it was excellent!
