Nice hotel with excellent location

The hotel is clean and well located. Staff is polite. Check in takes too long and bed is too soft.

Pros: Location location location
Cons: Install a mini bar
Wonderful location! Great for your morning run in Central Park, with fellow New Yorkers. Good size room by New York standards and lots of excellent eating places within a short distance.

Nice weekend. Hotel is located in a really good part of NY. Safe, short walk to Central Park, 5th Avenue, and some wonderful restaurants.

Pros: I loved the location. I thought the room was comfortable. I liked my view.
Cons: The water intermittently shut off. Very odd. It was a bit dated, but it was fine.
Location: You are near Central Park, 5th Ave, Columbus Circle.
I liked the hotel and loved the location! It is very close to a lot of places you will want to visit!

Classic NYC hotel in a "cannot beat" location.

Pros: Location and feel of elegant NYC. The breakfast is very good and overlooks Central Park.
Location: Central Park, Museums, Lincoln Center, 5th Avenue, and FAO Schwartz.
We had a problem with our safe and it was immediately addressed.

visit to nyc with daughter

Pros: location is perfect. bed was comfy. room was comfortable. staff was friendly.
Cons: free wifi. mini bar.
Location: location is right on central park. near 5th and lots of shopping and restaurants. perfect location for nyc.
i enjoyed the park lane. it is perfectly situated. it is a bit old school, but that is ok. i would not have minded having a mini bar and free wifi in the room but the hotel is reasonably priced for new york, so you can't be too critical. i will stay there again.

Too good to be true

Posted Sep 5, 2014
I was searching for a 5 star hotel on central park for Labor Day weekend. I mistakenly took the deal offered by Expedia and booked the Park Lane. It did sound and look good from the pictures. The reality is this is a tired hotel which I would guess should be more like a 3 to 4 star hotel. It is in a great location. However the rooms and service are sub par. The bathroom felt 20 years old. I should have good with the J W Marriott or the Plaza. I tried to save some dollars but now regret it.
