“Great location”
The only problems were the lack of adequate lighting in the bathroom and the lack of adequate closet space. The closet was good for only 2 hangars.
“Good location, good breakfast ... not much else”
This hotel was conveniently located in Midtown within reasonable walking distance to Times Square, the Theater District and the Empire State Building. The continental breakfast they served was basic, but delicious with hard boiled eggs, deli meats, soft bagels and cream cheese, danishes, etc. Unfortunately, the beds were relatively hard, the interior was aging, and the lobby was obsolete. I was disappointed by the fact that we could hear hallway noises and they set our wake up call for an hour earlier then they were supposed to. I'd stay here again if there was nothing better, but this was not a hotel to write home about.
“Will return soon!”
Great location, friendly service. Room was very clean and comfortable.
“Great Location”
Location is excellent between midtown and union square. Easy access to subway, east side and west side. Great staff !
“Very Good Hotel for the Price”
This is a very good hotel for the price paid, for NY it is great. The included breakfast is suficient. The only things not very good about it were the neighborhood (I expected it a litle bit nicer and cleaner) and the maid didn't clean the room thoroughly.
“Would recommend to our friends”
I thought the Park South Hotel was an excellent value. My wife and I stayed two nights. We enjoyed a generous continental breakfast each morning. Our room was clean, the hotel looked thoroughly remodeled with tasteful lighting and fixtures. When asked, the staff gave helpful recommendations on where to eat and getting around. We would stay here again!
“Comfortable and affordable in that area.”
I had no problems or issues.
“Let the Buyer Beware”
If your expectation is for a dorm room rather than a three-star property you'll be just fine at the Park South Hotel, For the first time, the photos online did not resemble the actual room. No lovely scalloped window treatments, no sitting area like in the photos. The room looked more like a dorm.....there was a bed, a desk and a wooden chair. That was it. Depressing. I really was taken aback when, instead of a closet there was a cabinet I was supposed to hang my clothes in. There were some hooks behind the front door, so I ended up hanging my business suits there. Not acceptable. When I complained to the front desk, I was told that the photos online were of the corner executive rooms, that there were very few of them, and no there was no better room available. the old bait and switch. Let the buyer beware! On the positive side, the comp. breakfast exceeded my expectations and you are only steps from the 6 subway, two stops to Grand Central. I, however, would not stay here again.
“Park South Hotel”
The location right next to the Subway station was great. The surrounding neighborhood didn't have much going on, but still had decent restaurants within walking distance and a great Irish Pub close by to watch sports that were not available in our room (not that the cable wasn't satisfactory, it was just a game that wasn't in that viewing market). The breakfast was great and saved us a lot of money on food. The room itself was pretty small but not unmanageable. One minor issue - the bathroom door smacked into the toilet which was kind-of annoying. Free internet was great. Having a fridge in the room was an added bonus. I would definitely stay again!
“Great Location”
This was our first time at the Park South and we were only there for one night. We went into the City to see the Mingus Orchestra at the Jazz Standard which is on 27th. The Park South is incredibly convenient with the subway at the end of the street and right near the club. We took the commuter rail in so we could catch the #6 two stops to 28th St. The hotel is very nice inside and the people there are friendly. The bar has a nice feel too (we stopped for a drink after the show). The room was clean and comfortable. Overall, I thought it was a good value and a great location.
