There are many tiny hotel rooms in NYC that are portrayed larger than they really are. The Pod does the exact opposite and it is brilliant. I loved it. I liked that the room was void of all the unnecessary extras that just make clutter. I will definitely stay there again.

Perfect location

Posted Jul 21, 2015
Pros: Location, staff, restaurant, close proximity to subway
This hotel was perfectly located in midtown Manhattan. We did an early check in without any hassle. Room were small but very comfy, clean and minimalistic. Enough room for couple but would not recommend for families with kids. Grand central was the closest subway so commuting is always a breeze. Restaurant and rooftop bar are excellent. They have the best tacos And salsa. Highly recommended.

A nice hotel in Midtown

Posted Jul 20, 2015
Pros: friendly staff, rooftop bar, restaurant, facilities in room
Cons: decor - it looks very dark in the corridors and could be lighter to give more of a welcoming look.
Location: great location in Midtown East.
The hotel is in a prime location in midtown - it is easy to get anywhere from here. easy to walk, taxi or find a subway (closest at grand central or 33rd street). The hotel was as described (we had booked a double pod). It was closer than i originally imagined but for somewhere to put your head to sleep then it ticks the boxes. It did have more of a hostel feel about it rather than hotel and this could put some travelers off. The walls are extremely thin and so you can hear what is going on next door as well as outside and the loud central heating/AC system can be quite off putting when you are trying to sleep at night. We had to change rooms during our stay as the person staying next door had their music on all night and you can hear it through the paper thin walls. However, the staff were extremely helpful and allowed us to change rooms (they were very nice at 3am!!). We were upgraded to a Queen room and I must say that, if you want a little more space then this is the room you should go for (if you can find the right deal). The hotel has a rooftop bar which is really great (even if busy) and the Salvation Taco restaurant is absolutely fab!! if you need somewhere a little closer to home for dinner after all of the walking - then this is the place to eat (and drink). Overall it was a pleasant experience and given the right price would book a queen room at the pod again.

Great value in the center of the Big Apple

Posted Jul 17, 2015
Pros: I liked the bunk bed option, since I was traveling with three young adults. The rooms were small but very clean.
Cons: Clocks in both rooms that we had were not working.
Location: Great restaurants in the immediate area. Easy to get to Times Square and theater. Also easy to get around city because Grand Central is very close.
This hotel was great. Rooms are small, but clean and quiet. Pod 39 has a great restaurant and rooftop bar on site. We were close to everything. Easy walk to Grand Central, Times Square, Rockefeller Center. Parking garage was convenient and a bargain for the city. I would definitely stay here again!

Großartiges Hotel für kleines Geld

Posted Jul 15, 2015

smashed my knee and goofy clerk

Posted Jul 15, 2015
upon entering the room, i smashed my knee on the corner of the bed --pressed wood and Very sharp corners. Teeny room with frosted glass sliding door for bathroom. 1/2 cup of Americano was $4.00!?! Stood at checkout line for over 10 minutes waiting for indecisive person in front of me--there was a clerk standing NEXT to me --no one else around-- until a businessman walked up and then the clerk sprang to life: "Can i help you sir?" I said to the clerk, "You Work Here?!?!" He said, "Yes, I was going to ask you if you needed help." Good hosting and hotel skills, goober!

Great hotel.

The room was clean and the hotel was quiet. Rooftop bar was cool. The rooms are tiny but you're just sleeping there anyway! I liked it. Better be comfortable with whomever you're sharing a room with though because it is pretty cozy. I also wouldn't recommend more than two people to a room. They also stored our bags after we checked out until we were ready to head to the airport.

Nice place to rest in midtown

Posted Jul 14, 2015
Very impressed by how neat and clean this place was. I was expecting worse given I booked a bunk bed, but it was a really comfortable stay. Also felt to be in good company as most of the guests I run into in the lobby seemed cool and happening
