Pod life in NYC

Posted Aug 28, 2014
If you're going to NYC and on a budget I fully recommend Pod 39! There is nothing cheap about the hotel other than the price :-) You're 5 minutes walk from Grand Central Station, 10-15 minutes from Empire state, Chrysler Building you can literally touch from your window oh and the Pod 39 bar downstairs is a fun place to be. The room facilities are great but don't expect lots of room but if you're in NYC and staying in the room you need to see a doctor! So my experience was epic! Stay at Pod 39 and explore NYC.

Good stay

Posted Aug 27, 2014
The rooms are small - but you know that when you book. They are however big enough, the beds are comfortable and the shower works plus you get free wifi. There really isn't much else to the hotel except the rooftop bar which is highly recommended as a place for a drink on a warm evening - but be warned it is busy and lively rather than spacious and chilled out.

Affordable Midtown East NYC Hotel

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: Convenient location a few blocks from Grand Central Station & LaGuardia airport shuttle.
Cons: Hotel cleaning staff cleaned my room quite late - 3PM & 4PM. So it was difficult to come back in the afternoon for a nap.
Location: Restaurants nearby on Lexington Avenue. Nicer ones on 2nd & 3rd Av. further north (50s & 60s Sts).
Checkin & checkout were a breeze. Had an early flight to NYC and my room wasn't available until the official 3PM checkin time. If you want to spend a lot of time in your hotel room, then you will find the rooms too small. I used it more to sleep & shower, while visiting NYC. The single pods are well designed with space saving features & accessoires.

Perfect place to stay in NY

Posted Aug 23, 2014
Pros: Everything
This was a 3 day stay following 2 weeks road-tripping across US and it gave us: perfect location, great atmosphere, excellent service (they allowed us to check in 3 hours before regular check-in time). It just so happened that we go the room at the top, 17th, floor and when we saw the rooftop terrace with the bar and a drop dead views, our jaws dropped. Earlier, I had pleasure staying in some crazy expensive hotel on 5th avenue while in NY on business but on strictly personal level Pod 39 beats it not only on price factor, but on pretty much any other parameter there is.

Amazing Balls!

What can I say that others haven't said already!? This place was PERFECT!! Stayed in room 903! Slept like a baby, enjoyed the small and cozy room, took advantage of the Rooftop Bar that made me feel on top of the world (awesome view), loved the good food & service at the Salvation Taco lobby restaurant/bar! ALL WAS AMAZING!

Great for overnight

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: Cleanliness and location
Cons: shower head and water pressure was too much
Location: 39th and 3rd was walking distance to Empire State Bldg, Chrylser building and Grand Central Station which takes you anywhere you want to go.
The room was extremely clean which I loved! And the location was just perfect. But the bunk pod was too small for a stay of more than a day. There was no place to put anything. Everyday it was unpack and repack. No real bathroom counter, mirror was only face height (so no seeing what you are wearing) and one desk and one chair for two people for three days was a bit too much. Would try again in a bigger room ~

Great location. Fun staff. Clean room.

Posted Aug 9, 2014
Pros: Location, cleanliness, friendly staff. Great place to come back to after a day of shows and sightseeing, and relax at the rooftop bar.
Cons: Big thick towels, and big thick pillows would be awesome.
Location: NYC Library, Morgan Library, Times Square, Broadway. With Grand Central only a couple of blocks away, it is easy to catch subway to anywhere else.
Great location just a block or two from Grand Central. Fun Mexican bar/restaurant on main floor with a cool rooftop bar on the 17th. My room was small but clean and comfortable. If you want to spend a lot of time in your room then Pod is not the place for you. But, why would you. You're in NYC.

Location: Very close to Grand Central Station and walking distance to main tourist attractions.
Very pleasant stay. Loved the bunk bed pods as visiting NY with my sister. Great bar and food.
