Nice hotel for Young People - Students

Posted Jul 26, 2014
Pros: Location, clean accommodation, for a small room it has all the basics needed. Great place for business or young clients. Please read above.
Cons: The bars are the hangout for young professional after work, after 5pm, they block the entrance and the whole lobby, please pay attention. Read above.
Location: I already mentioned, please read the above statements. Great location, near to all transportation, safe area. Please my other comments.

Very nice hotel, great location

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Love this hotel, relatively quiet but just 15 minutes or so walk to Times Square. Felt safe. Nice area, near convenient shops and stores. Friendly staff. Room was very small but perfect if you're alone. Very clean, felt new. The only thing I didn't like was the shower head directly from the ceiling, no ability to control water flow or direction. A little pricey for the size of the room, but I had a good deal. Worth it in terms of location and cleanliness.

Exactly what I was looking for

Posted Jul 17, 2014
If you're looking for functional it's perfect. Yes it's small but if that's what you're looking for there's no where else you want.

Nice and concenient hotel

Posted Jul 17, 2014
The hotel is close to the Grand Central terminal, the Empire Estate Building, etc. It is very convenient for me to go around Manhattan. The room is clean, the bed is confortable. I read comments saying that the room is very small when I booked the hotel, so I had booked a double pod, which is bare enough for one person, I think.

More bar hotel than hotel with bar

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Nice hotel. Small rooms but clean and confortable. Friendly staff. Roof top bar is a nice touch. But with a busy taco restaurant and another bar on the ground you have to share the lobby and lifts with people go from one to another.

Jet Aircraft HVAC & flashing smoke alarm

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: I like the full bed room size and price. It was clean and my room was ready early, always a plus
Cons: A good HVAC engineer and non flashing smoke detectors!
Location: Very well located to midtown Manhattan
I like the Pod hotel. I don't mind the small room size, the bathrooms are cool and I have stayed at the other location in NYC and had a very nice stay, HOWEVER, the AC unit in my room on this stay was way too big and noisy for the size of the room. Granted the weather outside was hot and muggy, but the temperature in my room was either freezing or clammy warm. Even worse, EVERY time the AC kicked on it was like a jet engine shooting frigid air directly down onto the bed. Between that and the flashing lights on the smoke alarm that reflected in the huge bath mirror and illuminated the entire room like a photo flash every 90 second, it took a few hours to fall asleep, even with a sleep aid. It was not a restful night. They could also use a bit of sound dampening in the hallways.

Location: This is a great location, near to Grand Central Station.
I like the affordability of this place and its proximity to the subway. I don't need a big room when I am going to be out in NYC all day. I am just using the room for sleeping and showering. The hotel was very efficient, clean and comfortable. I just need a simple place to lay my head at night. The hotel has a hip and technology focused atmosphere which I appreciated.

Pros: location, aminities and staff were excelent.
a great place to stay, clean and well cared for. Small rooms but that is the charm, who is staying in their rooms while visiting NYC anyway?

Nice Hotel close to EVERYTHING!

Posted Jul 12, 2014
Pros: Close proximity to EVERYTHING and clean newly renovated hotel. Soundproof rooms.
Cons: Shower was way too small and while the rainfall shower head is nice, it wasn't such a good idea in this dinky shower. Bathroom needed an exhaust fan!
Location: Close proximity to EVERYTHING! 5 blocks from Grand Central Station, 4 blocks from Chrystler building, 7 blocks from Empire State Building...
Overall our 4 day stay at the Pod 39 hotel was very good! We did not spend a great deal of time in the room though. We basically showered and slept in the room and that is it. Our room was a double pod. Very small, about 10'x10' square room with the bathroom being a little less than half of the room size. Room was on the 2nd floor and we didn't hear anyone else within the hotel. Very little noise from outside and a bit of noise from the air conditioner, but that is all. Newly renovated hotel with modern decor.

Nice hotel in NY

Posted Jul 10, 2014
Pros: Clean and tidy, nice terrace
Cons: Great value, if you ask for more space will not cost the same
Location: Great location for the price
Great experience and good environment, tiny rooms but all that you need is there
