Just what I neededPosted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: I liked the pricing and I loved the cleanliness.
Cons: The lobby was under construction, so check-in was in the restaurant. But still handled very professionally.
Location: The location: right across the street from a wonderful private public park with a waterfall
I chose a dorm style room, where the bathrooms were down the hall. Each bathroom had a different layout and style. I made a game of visiting a different bathroom each time. Wonderful stay! The marketing team is right: I am hardly in my room when I am in New York, the pod was just what I needed..

Shared closet-size bathroom w/ no shower?Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: the ac worked.
Cons: dont hide how terrible your hotel is by making false claims and attaching fake pictures to the ads.
The hotel was great if youre -traveling alone -you dont mind a twin bed -you dont mind going out into the hallway in your towel after you have used the child size shared shower (which is separate from the toilet (which has no sink to wash your hands)).

New York on a budgetPosted Jul 27, 2014
We thought Pod51 was an economical place to stay with personality. We purposely looked for a unique boutique hotel. The rooms are small and clean. The service was fine, but we didn't really need much. There is a good restaurant downstairs that was useful for a drink or snack. It's located 1-2 blocks from the subway so we could get anywhere easily. We would definitely stay here again!!!

Modern little podPosted Jul 25, 2014
You have to know going in this will be a very small room. Hence the name pod51. I was aware but didn't care as it was just me and I just needed a bed to sleep in. It is a nice modern little hotel. Beds aren't too bad only issue I had was the aircon didn't cool the room that well. Not sure if it was just my room or all of them. Other than that I was quite happy. I got my own room with the private bathroom. Staff where helpful at organizing a shuttle for the airport and storing my bags after I checked out and before I had to leave. You also get a free drink for the bar next door on arrival.

This hotel is great!Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: Rooftop deck, location and price
Cons: They did not provide washcloths
Location: Close to subway station, and all of the main attractions of Manhattan!
If you are looking for a place that is close to the subway and main spots of Manhattan. This is the place to stay!! It is very affordable with many nice bistros and sidewalk cafes nearby. The rooms are small, but very clean and organized. We appreciated the fact that we had a free continental breakfast, wifi, and coffee every day which was an added bonus. Although the hotel lobby is under a remolding process during our stay, the staff was very helpful and added some extra perks like a complimentary free glass a wine and coffee. This is the 2nd time I have stayed at the Pod 51 and will stay again in a heartbeat!!! Great value and the rooftop deck is an added bonus!!! LOVE THIS PLACE!

Too small for twoPosted Jul 22, 2014
Did not expect such small room. Feels like they tell and show only big room, instead of explain what exactly to buy. Paid un advance not recomended. Better to see for yourself and then decide if stay.

Great location, great atmosphere.Posted Jul 21, 2014
Good location close to lexington avenue subway line. Close to top of the rock, grand central and un headquarters. Small rooms as you would expect but everything you need is there and was kept very clean everyday. Rooftop terrace is nice, a great suntrap. Pop at the pod bar downstairs has good food and beer and friendly staff.

somewhat difficult to find & room was really hotPosted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: lobby has a nice design
Cons: air conditioning, more space for comfort, way too cramped
This was probably one of the cheaper places offered in new york and it was okay. The room was pretty cramped and the air ventilation was not the best. There are four bathrooms on each floor (at least there was on mine) and it was nice that they had lights on the top of your door on the inside of the room that lit up if the bathrooms were occupied.
