Fun hotel with excellent use of space!

Posted Mar 2, 2015
Pros: Very funky set up and in a great area with lots of things to see and do.
Location: Lot's of bars and restaurants near by. Central Park, Timesquare and many other attractions are within walking distance.
Staying at Pod 51 was a pretty cool experience. We booked a room with bunk beds and a shared bathroom, which sounds daunting at first, but it really was quite cool. The room had a sink and mirror, which was convenient if the bathrooms were not available. The bunk beds were very comfortable and clean. The room itself was very small but the use of space was very smart and made it seem larger than it actually was. The shared washrooms were much better than I anticipated. There were 4 WC's on the floor and your keycard unlocked the door, so it was more private than most public washrooms. It was cool to have the WC light indicators above the hotel room door to let you know if they were occupied or not. Very cool. The hotel lobby was really nice and the cafe/restaurant provided a nice lounging space.

Small, but very nice.

Posted Mar 1, 2015
Pros: Price was great.
Cons: It was fine for what it was.
Location: It was a bit of a walk from Times Square, but had it been a nice night and not snowing, I think it would have been perfectly lovely.
Went into this knowing that it was going to be very small and had a shared bathroom, so I wasn't surprised at all. It was very clean and the bathroom shower never had a wait. I had two different rooms. The first one had a smaller bed than the second. imagine a twin versus a mini twin. It wasn't that comfortable, but it was perfectly fine. It was a healthy walk to times square, but a pleasant one just the same.

Nice hotel, good location

Lovely hotel close to all the action of Midtown Manhattan. Lots of great shopping opportunities and restaurants nearby. It is a subway/taxi ride away from the sights of Soho and the financial district but it is located close to subway stops and these make a great day out.

Posted Feb 26, 2015

OK

Posted Feb 25, 2015
Pros: Location. Music in the bathrooms and friendliness of the staff
Cons: heating, angle of tv in bedrooms or bracket on the wall that can be angled , shared bathroom ceilings to be sorted out,
My first time I stayed there. It was OK. Room heating had been switched off and as the heating was on a timer i had ti wait over half an hour to get warm...Unfortunately i came at the coldest time in New York so that did nit help. Room was OK. TV on the wall was fixed so could not be angled lying in bed it was not best positioned to see. Apart from that OK. Staff were friendly, helpful at same time could not really do much to accommodate with heating etc as that is what room /hotel offered. To make it better I would definitely ask for room where tv is in from t of the bed not at an angle or is on a wall with brackets that you can adjust depending on where you are lying down.Heating well I do not know all I know is I ws cold....and even during the night one blanket was not enough so following day I actually requested for two more to be brought to my room. Service was quick and good. Hairdryer did not work again they brought another one straight away. I would definitely stay there again.Location great. Price OK. But I would definitely have one with bathroom as there were times I had to wait for someone to come out and a tv that i can see in front of me.Also many blankets :-)

Reasonably priced hotel in center of Manhattan

Posted Feb 25, 2015
Pros: Price, location
Cons: Odd times to refresh wi-fi credentials - annoying, but not major
Location: Great restaurants in the area, too numerous to note
Clean, well-placed hotel with free wi-fi, close to subway.

Preis / Leistung sind in diesem Hotel absolut top.

Posted Feb 24, 2015
Pros: Sauberkeit, WLAN, Flair
Cons: Nein.
Location: Lexington Av / 51st Street.
Was will man mehr. Was man wissen muss: Das Zimmer war ca. 4 x 4 Meter groß. Also nicht wirklich riesig. Eigentlich war alles da, was man braucht. 3 Tage Hop-On Hopp-Off Bus.
