So close to the subway and very central position

Posted Nov 21, 2014
Pros: Clean, tidy and close to subway, stores and restaurants.
Cons: Hand dryer in the bathroom.
Location: Rockefeller Center, Morning Star cafe [feel like a local], easy access to subway.
My 2nd stay at Pod 51 and always impressed with the cleanliness and professionalism of the team. My friend traveled with me and her first time in NYC. She too was impressed. Definitely would stay again.

Great value for money

Posted Nov 20, 2014
This was our first visit to the States and working to a budget we were very pleased with our choice of hotel. A great location within walking distance to many attractions and a variety of eating places. Our room was clean, warm and modern - would definitely use again

Next time I would choose private bath

Posted Nov 18, 2014
Very clean and can't beat the price. Love the concept of small and efficient but would choose private bathroom instead of shared.

Nice hotel close to Times Square

Posted Nov 18, 2014
Pros: Location, close to train stop (about 3 blocks), and close to a super good bagel place (on the same block).
I actually had to upgrade to a queen size bed/room because the single was way to small. It's a nice hotel, pretty clean, but not big guy friendly. My room had a private bath, but it was tiny. I had to sit sideways on the toilet, and barely fit in the shower. The last day I realized that the shared bathrooms are way bigger. So get a queen size bed and used the shared bathroom if you're about 6'2, 280lbs and bigger.

What I Expected And More...

Posted Nov 13, 2014
POD 51 was exactly what I wanted -- affordable, comfortable, modern. The shared bathroom experience was hassle free (never saw anyone else, 3 bathrooms available on my floor). Room was small (as expected), but gave me what I needed -- comfortable bed/pillow, sink, closet space, and a window. I didn't expect the iPod docking station -- nice bonus! I was very pleasantly surprised by the number and variety of restaurants within a block. I'll definitely stay here again.

Close to bars and restaurants

Posted Nov 12, 2014
Pros: free wifi(stable WiFi!!! which is hard to find), checkin-out was quick, nice lobby atmosphere, free drink at the bar
Cons: the toilet blocked my path to the shower. The bathroom is super tiny.phone was covered with dust, housekeeping threw away my free drink ticket
I had a business trip to NY and I chose this hotel since it was right behind where the company office was located. For a 3 night stay, I didn't pay too much attention to details, but here's how I felt: Pro: free wifi(stable WiFi!!! which is hard to find), checkin-out was quick, nice lobby atmosphere, free drink at the bar, lots of pillows Con: the toilet pretty much blocked my path to the shower. The bathroom is super tiny. For all three days the phone was covered with dust, so I know the cleaning team doesn't clean every corner. I left the free drink ticket in my room, but the cleaning lady threw it away so I couldn't use it... I stayed in the private queen. Hope it helps

Great value

For a single traveller, this was ideal. Much less expensive than a "normal" hotel room (although still expensive because it's Manhattan).

Deceiving announcement

Posted Nov 11, 2014
When I found the Hotel via Expedia the price was low but they did not indicate a hidden 27 service charge! It was also advertised with no cancelation fee only to find out AFTER payment that the hotel has a cancelation policy.
