Comfortable hotel. Good location.Posted Aug 29, 2014
My first time at a Pod hotel and i was pleasantly suprised. It was in a very good location with good links to wherever i wanted to go in the city. The staff where very polite and helpful. The room was small but had everything i needed except drink making facilities, and was very clean. I paid the extra for a double room and private bathroom. It didn't cost so much more and was well worth the money. As it was only ever going to be a base to sleep at it was all i needed for me but it would have been uncomfortable for 2 sharing. Also it was very noisy which could be a problem for some. All in all a very positive experience

Definitely a great "budget" hotelPosted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Location, the style, and rooftop!
Cons: Nothing I could think of
Location: Location is definitely good. Surrounded with restaurants, close to subway, starbucks
I have stayed in POdHotel 39 before and I really was impressed then on how they used space in such a smart way. So I did not hesitate to book for this hotel and yet again I am impress. It is a very hip and well updated place. Yes, the rooms are small but then why would you want a bigger room in NYC? There is just so much to than stay in your hotel room. First, I was greeted by a a very pleasant staff. I was also upgraded for free to a much larger room than what I have booked! For the price, yes it is still expensive but compared to other NYC hotels, this is definitely cheaper. Cheaper but without sacrificing comfort and style. The room is comfortable and just has all the necessities. I like that the storage is under the bed, it has an ihome clock where you can charge your iphone, a small TV, a small desk. I think it is always best to book with the private bathroom. Although i think the place is well maintained that there should be no problem with cleanliness if you choose a shared bathroom. The pod hotel rooms actually reminds me of amenities on an airplane. Everything is small.. the sink, the coat hook is exactly like the ones you see on trains and airplanes! I actually like this detail :) Also A great ROOFTOP, bring your coffee and breakfast and just relax. I think this hotel is best for single travelers or couples. I think it is small for a family. Definitely a younger population booking this hotel (at least what I observed) Will definitely book again

Not unless you want to have a "one night stand"Posted Aug 27, 2014
The hotel to begin with itself had a very funky design and paint job. But then I was shocked and dismayed at the size and facilities inside the room. What was even more shocking was that the toilet/bathroom had no door! Additionally there are instructions by the door on how to tuck in to bed and "start up the fun". NOT at all the destination if you are going with anybody other than a partner to have some "fun" for a night! Even that i would doubt ! NO value for your money!

Very good hotel: good location and pricing.Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: Nice location, not too noisy.
Cons: Staff attitude, AC in rooms.
Location: There are several good restaurants couple blocks away.
It has pretty small rooms and shared bathrooms, but totally worth the money for staying in downtown of Manhattan. Although when I tried to keep AC on, it did cool the air a little but was not able to reduce humidity, I had to keep window open at all time to have comfort environment.

An excellent basePosted Aug 24, 2014
Pros: The snack bar in the lobby served good British-style tea and delicious bagels! We were also very impressed with the roof top terrace.
Cons: Lobby was being renovated which could be noisy at times. At least 1 lift was always broken which resulted in the working ones being packed with guests
Location: Seriously impressed with the location, many big attractions 5-10 mins walk away. Would also like to recommend the bar on the corner called Cornerstone
We were very happy with our stay. My husband and I travelled to New York for our honeymoon and just needed a base - a place to shower and sleep and this was perfect. We booked a double room with private bathroom. Be aware that the toilet and shower is only separated from the bedroom by glass panels so you need to be very comfortable with the person you're staying with! The room was small but we knew this was the case when we booked. We found there was still plenty of space to store our clothes and the purchases we made during the week. The décor is fresh and colourful, the beds were comfy and our rooms were cleaned to a high standard daily. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Overall, we were impressed with our stay especially considering the relatively low cost (Manhattan is not a cheap area!)

Good locationPosted Aug 23, 2014
The hotel was in a great location close to subway and sights. The room was small but clean and tidy. The bathroom adequate. The wifi was patchy in the room but able to be accessed in the lobey. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Good location, small & comfortablePosted Aug 22, 2014
Cons: We waited for the elevator for quite a while a few times
Location: 51st &3rd, close to shops on the 5th avenue . Easy access to subway
Close to the subway, only a short walk to 5th avenue. Clean but very small. The advertised double bed is positioned "sideway" in the room. The private shower is also very small. My son and I are both 6 foot and had problem bumping into each other in the room sometimes. The room are clean though and the staff do a good job.

Stayed at both Pod 51 and YotelPosted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: the price, the location
Stayed at both Pod 51 and Yotel this trip (had to stay an extra night due to weather, pod was cheaper). If I were to do it again, I'd just stay at the Pod unless I was with someone. The beds were more comfortable and it had everything I needed, plus it was closer to the subway. However, if I were with someone, a double/queen bed would have been nice as would a little more space- which I got when I was with a friend at the yotel.

Cute & CozyPosted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: I loved the location and the price of this hotel, the lobby and bar area we're really nice too. Also they food was pretty good.
Cons: I'm not really picky but there was not a single piece of art on the wall and no comforter on the bed, I really would have liked a cozy blanket.
Location: A short walk to 5th Ave, Rockefeller Center, Times square, there's subway access a block away. It's a great location!
When we arrived at the hotel it was under renovations but it looked really nice, especially the work they were in the midst of completing which was nice. When we initially walked into our room I was caught off guard by just how small the room actually was, I took a few pictures because I thought it was so funny, my husband and I had a lot off laughs over it. We had a room with a double bed and a bathroom so maybe having the bathroom took up some of our extra space, I don't know. We booked this hotel on an Expedia sale so I am aware I got a great value to be in midtown Manhattan, but if I paid the regular price I've seen it going for I would have been disappointed because I've stayed at some other boutique hotels in midtown Manhattan that provide a lot more luxury (and space) for very little extra cost. All in all I thought it was a nice hotel though, and we had a decent stay.
