“Great for exploring New York”
Special thanks to James on the front desk for making us feel welcome, and for providing us with valuable information, e.g. bus times, shopping, groceries, etc. Not forgetting the rest of the staff who were diligent and professional at all times - despite having to deal with other guests in the hotel who obviously forgot to pack good manners and courtesy in their collective suitcases. Maybe hotel staff should be allowed to write reviews about guests. Well done to them all!
We stayed in Rm 323 which had two king size bedrooms, both en suite, both with TV (only one with Internet access, although this was not an issue, and network speed was good enough).
Good size kitchen area, cooker, m/wave, coffee maker, fridge/freezer with ice making facility. Only four of everything (plates, cups, cutlery, etc.) kinda makes sense but having more would have been useful.
Laundry room with 4 washers and 4 driers use $3 each per load. Facilities in room were fine for ironing, but perhaps a folding clothes-horse in each room would be useful for drying/airing clothes.
Rooms were serviced everyday to a high standard. The accommodation is good enough to get the thumbs up from 2 teenage daughters who are difficult to please.
A safe, well-lit, 5 minute walk to the bus stop for No.163 takes you to Port Authority (42nd St). Same bus can take you back, dropping you off at the other side of the street. Timetable available from front desk.
If you get fed up of NY, try Garden State shopping - WOW!
