Great Hotel Close to Times Square & Penn Station

Posted Jan 23, 2015
Pros: The design/feel of the hotel; the central location in the city; and the comfort/cleanliness of the hotel.
Cons: The mattress and bedding felt a little on the cheaper side, but it really wasn't that bad!
Location: Times Square is just north of the hotel. Bryant Park, 5th Avenue shopping, the New York Library, and Rockefeller Center are a short walk away.
The hotel was a short walk from Penn Station, and not far from Time Square. The hotel lobby, the lounge, and the room was really clean and of modern design. The room was clean and comfortable, and actually bigger than I thought it would be! Check in and out was super easy, and they even held my bag for me after I checked out so I could explore the city before my train. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who stays in NYC, especially if you get the discounted rate! :)

We had room 2712 nice room comfy beds nice well stocked kitchen area everything you need. Never waited more than 1 minute for elevator. Great tasty breakfast a little crowded but it was free and would cost 20$ a person anyplace else in Midtown. Good location 5 min. Walk from bus terminal. 2 mins to Broadway

Positive, would stay again. Stayed with two teenage sons and had a very good time visiting places around. Watching Empire State room from the bed is the highlight of this visit .

Great Location

Posted Dec 27, 2014
Pros: Clean, spacious room; great breakfast; great location; great value.
Cons: Nothing we felt needed improvements.
Location: Bryant Park Holiday Market; Rockafeller Center; Top of the Rock; Radio City; Times Square; Circle Line Cruises; High Line; Empire State Bldg; Macy's.
Terrific stay at the Residence Inn! Had a spacious studio unit with King Bed and great breakfast selection as expected. Great value and location! Easy walk to Radio City and Rockafeller Center; Big Bus and City Sights pick up points in Times Square; Pier 83 for the Circle Line Cruise; Macy's and much more. Inexpensive cab ride down to the 9/11 Museum and Memorial. Lots of subway stations to get to wherever you go. My daughter and I were walking a lot around the neighborhood often getting back around 11 p.m. Lots of people around and things to do or see. The best part was that Bryant Park was a short distance up on the Avenue of Americas and had not only a holiday market, but even an ice skating rink. We enjoyed going to this park even more than Rockafeller Center!

4 elevators for a 34 story hotel. Had to wait over 10 minutes at times. Heating unit in room sounded like a jet engine Never made up my room on a 2 night stay.

Excellent hotel in an even better location

Posted Dec 25, 2014
We checked in at 1:30 am and Andre at the reception desk was incredible. He saw that we were tired and traveling with a child and expedited our check in. The free breakfast in the morning was great but could get a little crowded after 8:00. Rooms are very roomy and comfortable. We stayed in a studio suite with a few of the Empire State building. Pull out sofa for child was very handy. Overall excellent 4 nights for the holidays in this hotel!
