“Surprised By This Beautiful, Comfortable, Friendly Hotel”
The Roosevelt Hotel was a very pleasant surprise. Not sure where to stay, I just took what I could afford and WOW did I hit the jackpot. Beautiful lobby and wonderfully decorated for Christmas. The check-in & concierge were very friendly, accommodating and helpful. The room had plenty of room with a little foyer for extra space and comfy beds. I left so rested, which never happens on a whirlwind vacation! We were 1 block from Grand Central Station so easy access to anywhere in the city. One block from 5th Avenue shopping and just a bit farther to Avenue of the Americas, Bryant Park and Times Square. It was a GREAT experience for beauty, space, comfort, convenience & location. I would recommend the Roosevelt to anyone. Thank you for a great experience.
“Good location, convenient to theater, Rockefeller Center and shopping.”
The hotel is well-located and has an elegant, attractive lobby. Our room was nice enough, although we could never get the room quite cool enough. The bathroom was quite small with very little counter space so made putting on make-up a bit of a challenge. TV channels are limited--no FOX NEWS! Beds were comfortable and clean. Lots of elevators so rarely a long wait.
“Conveniently located”
Eight ladies went sightseeing and shopping the first week of December. We surprisingly received a room upgrade when the clerk realized there were four adults to a room. Everyone was courteous and helpful, but the service in the bar area was rather slow. More wait staff would have been nice.
“Smaller bathroom than a Europe hotel”
The hotel was comfortable and a great location, the bathroom was extremely small and the TV placement weird. No in room coffee and minimal storage.
“Comfortable beds, helpful staff”
We were very impressed with the Roosevelt overall. The pictures really don't do it justice; it's a beautiful hotel. The location is great for activities in Midtown, and it's about two blocks from Grand Central Station. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. The staff was friendly and helpful--we had the concierge set up dinner for us one evening and were quite impressed with the venue he suggested. Room service is good, if a little pricey for what you get. Overall, would recommend staying here and would stay again ourselves.
“Central to everything!”
Close to everything with old feel and charm!
“Roosevelt needs a re-do”
Walking into the lobby is the best part if your stay. The rooms are in serious need if a re-do. From the stained carpet to the old bathroom to the running toilet to the noisy heater.....needed a re-do. I woul not stay there again.
“Loved the Roosevelt Hotel - would definitely go back!”
The Roosevelt Hotel is a beautful old Hotel and I we loved our stay there. The Hotel is under renovation and unfortunately we got a room that had not been updated yet. The decor of the room and bedding was nice and comfortable, but it was ready for some updates. The main problem was the bathroom. The toilet would run and make noises constantly. Maintenance came but the problem continued. There was a hair dryer in the bathroom - but it was on the wall next to the toilet rather than near the sink and area you would stand - and the cord was too short to reach a person's hair unless you straddled the toilet. That was my main and biggest complaint other than the toilet running. The pedistal sink left no space to put your cosmetics and things while getting ready. A vanity top would be better when a person is traveling. The lobby and common areas of the Hotel were absolutely gorgeous, especially all decoratead for Christmas. It was just so beautiful and pleasant I can overlook the problems in our room. I would stay there again for sure. The location is near all the places we wanted to go - Times Square, Rockefeller Center, shopping, etc. The lounge and bar just off the lobby was beautiful and we served great food. I really loved being there and hope to return.
“Solid value in mid-town”
Because I late booked a key professional conference, the block of conference rooms were sold out. The event was in mid-town and I chose the Roosevelt as a moderately priced and conveniently located alternative. Not disappointed. Room was small but for one person, it was fine. Only complaint: no coffee in the room!
“Good Value & Great Location”
We enjoyed our stay at the Roosevelt. It was our second stay there in the past few years. Although the rooms are a little dated, they are comfortable and the service was very good. The location is perfect for sightseeing, shopping, and enjoying the city. We will stay at the Roosevelt on our next trip to NYC. Looking forward to seeing the upgradesto the hotel that are in process.
