Nice hotel close to Central Park

Posted Oct 22, 2014
First night were in a room fronting the main street. Incredibly noisy. Asked for room swap and was arranged without hesitation by hotel staff. Came back to much bigger suite at the rear of hotel. Much more comfortable. Water pressure in showers was not great and water temp fluctuated throughout shower. Old plumbing I guess. Nice hotel but seems old. Staff were very pleasant. Staff comfortable and we could walk a few blocks to Central Park or a half hr stroll to Times Square.

Good for the bargain hunter

Posted Oct 21, 2014
Pros: For the price, this is a very good choice. It is easy to get to and close to the Park and subway. Our suite was quite large and it was very quiet.
Cons: The breakfast was not up to the standard that we would have liked.
Location: Great location near Central Park and many of the attractions are a short subway or taxi ride away.
We had very good concierge service. They were very friendly and willing gave us advice on how to get to our destinations. Our room was ready on time and quite large. Right across the street is Carnegie Hall and Central Park is 2 blocks north. We really enjoyed the convenience of the location. We did find that being an older hotel, the bathroom was on the small size, but overall the decor was fine.

Great location!!! Steps away from Central Park

Posted Oct 21, 2014
Pros: The location and the staff.
Cons: Hotel could use a little updating.
The location of The Salisbury is exceptional. Steps to Central Park and far enough away from the craziness of Times Square (though only a 5 minute walk away). The staff were more than helpful and very friendly. The hotel itself is a little older and could use a little updating, but for the price you couldn't ask for much more.

Hotel location is located on a very nice location

Posted Oct 21, 2014
Pros: I like the location as it's close too a lot of attraction area for sight seeing
Cons: Improve the hotel room to be more attractive and beautiful and the bathroom need to be redone
We experienced a broken shower and water was running all over the place. The room needs to be redone to make it more appealing to attract customers to want to stay longer. Can be decorated a little more. Coffee pot and coffee and water should be provided in the bedroom. Need to have wifi free of charge. When customer book. Room for three people, especially for husband and wife and another single person in one room-- queen size or king size bed should be provided and a single bed for a single person. Two standard beds in one room for three people is verycrowded. Other than that the hotel staff is very helpful and ver polite. We appreciated all their help.

Good hotel

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Check in was quick and easy. Lift was old style. Room was good had a fridge and microwave iron and board. Good size TV. Paid $5 for half hour wifi which didn't work. But reception let me use they computer to check in my flight to come home. We were on the 11th floor and could hear the traffic all night ( double glazing needed ). But the two double beds were wonderful and comfy.

Worth Considering

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: Room was clean and a great bed & pillows. Hotel in a great position to walk to everything
Cons: An overall upgrade
Location: Great location and for us who do a lot of walking everything was accessable inclusing Central Park, Times Square.
We stayed 12 Nights in a suite which was more than comfortable. We requested a room away from the front so that it was less noisier and this is recommended. All staff were friendly & helpful with our requests, bookings and general queries. The hotel needs an upgrade on appearance

Nice hotel, Fantasitc location

Posted Oct 19, 2014
Pros: Location, space, breakfast was also quite good. Pizza place next door is fantaic.
Cons: WiFi should be included in room rate. $10/day is a bit unreasonable. The Starbucks across the road has free WiFi
Location: Times Square, Rockefeller Plaza & Central Park are only a few minutes walk away. Plenty of food options nearby. Good access to subway.
My family of 4 (2 adults 2 Kids) stayed here in September 2014. This is an older style hotel, but it is in fairly good condition. We stayed in a 1BR suite which has lots of space (by New York Standards!). Location was awesome. There is a Subway at each end of the street and the hotel is only five minutes walk to both central park and times square. I highly recommend this place.
