Nice hotel, Great location.Posted Dec 20, 2014
The room was spacious and clean. The room has seen many years but is appealing to me, because I enjoy preservation of the aged. A spacious living room with older, but comfortable furniture. A nice kitchenette, with table and chairs to sit and eat at. Microwave and small refrigerator included. Nice desk and comfy chair to sit and write a letter at or surf the web. Bedroom with two comfortable double beds, with a nice basic dresser, night stand, and three walk-in closets. Bathroom clean and functional. The hotel is nicely decorated and the staff are friendly and professional. Check in at 3 and check out by noon, that was very nice for a laid back, read a good book morning. An awesome 24 hour market across the street. We will come back whenever we are in NY City!

Absolutely Fabulous!!Posted Dec 19, 2014
wonderful room.. suite would be a more appropriate term as it is not your usual bed and bathroom, you get a lounge with flat screen TV, kitchenette and at least 4 closets! Safe is free and hidden away in one of the closets. Staff are lovely.. So helpful and concierge very knowledgable about airport transfers etc. Hotel location is superb.. So close to Central Park, broadway, Rockerfeller and MoMA to name but a few! We had a wonderful break in New York.

Comfortable hotel from which to enjoy NYCPosted Dec 19, 2014
Everything was far better than we expected. Spacious comfortable room at an affordable price very convenient to most NYC attractions e.g. 5th Ave. Times Sq. Broadway & Central Park and readily accessible, via the subway, to the rest. Highly recommended

Hotel was close to everything we wanted to do, and the subway. Staff was very helpful with directions and anything we needed arranged ride back to airport and held our bags after checkout. Room was a good size very clean.

Almost like staying with family (but better)Posted Dec 18, 2014
Pros: Spacious, clean & comfortable rooms. Pleasant staff.
Cons: Decor update
Location: GREAT location in midtown Manhattan - close to all.
My stay at the Salisbury Hotel was very nice. The staff was super friendly & helpful. The hotel may need a bit of updating, as the decor is rather dated, but it is so spacious that you don't mind. Also, the place is SPOTLESS! Would stay there again & again!!

Not as nice as I'd expectedPosted Dec 18, 2014
Pros: The location was optimal. I wanted a place near Carnegie Hall, which this certainly was.
Cons: See above.
Location: Carnegie Hall is near. Broadway's not far. I think Central Park was nearby. There were restaurants.
In general, the hotel just didn't seem that nice. Some of the paint was peeling. The staff seemed very stern and grumpy. The elevators are slow, and there are only 2 of them for a lot of floors. They have signs up that say there's a breakfast voucher, but the voucher just says they'll charge your room $14 for a continental breakfast. My friend that was visiting felt unwelcome.

Everything is too old . It just be up to date like most of new York's hotels . Otherwise excellent location . Staff not friendly at all. Elevators too slow. Everything has a crack sounds because of the antique condition.

Nice hotel good locationPosted Dec 18, 2014
Pros: room size,good heating,clean,cost
Cons: breakfast could be better, rooms especially electrics need updating
Location: close to the park, 5th avenue shopping
this is a very dated hotel but has some of the largest rooms i have ever stayed at in New York. Rooms were clean and comfortable with coffee making facilities. There is a great deal of noise all night long if you get a street side room so ask for a rear room if possible. Breakfast is approx 14 dollars but not really worth it, find a local deli instead. Would i stay at this hotel again, definetly yes
