Third StayPosted Sep 29, 2014
Location is everything. Can't fault it. Large, clean rooms & good beds. Handy subway stations. Yes, decor is out of date but the location makes up for it

NIce hotel but not close to restaurants.Posted Sep 28, 2014
Pros: I liked the people who work there, the room was clean and we heard no noise in our room. That was great in order to get sleep at night.
Cons: Better breakfasts. Maybe some eggs bacon. The food that was there was very good. Just wanted some good scrambled eggs and bacon in the morning.
Location: Went to Central Park which was close. Not to far from Time Square. Just wish more restaurants around there.
Had a great time, people at Salisbury Hotel were very helpful and friendly. NYC is a very fun and exciting city. Loved it. Made a lot of memories with my daughter. Went to see the play Wicked. Very good and enjoyed it very much. Saw all the sights on the tour buses. Did a lot of walking, too. Now, to heal my body from all walking I did.

Good hotel, great location.Posted Sep 28, 2014
Pros: Location, room size and friendly helpful staff.
Cons: Decor could do with being updated. Especially in rooms bathrooms.
Location: Central Park, Times Square, National History Museum, Met Museum of Art, Central Park Zoo, Radio City Hall, Rockerfella Centre, all within walking dist
The Salisbury is located in a great postion, only 5 mins walk from Central Park and 15 mins to Times Square. Easy access to subway just round the corner. We upgraded to a suite which was massive for New York standards and could quite easily have accomodated up to 6 never mind the 2 of us! Only thing that lets this hotel down ever so slightly is that it feels a bit it dated especially the overall decor and in room bathroom decor but this doesn't detract from the fact that this is still a very good hotel.

Cons: Check cleanliness better--noted some vomit left-overs on bathroom door. Housekeeping were prompt in cleaning it up.
Location: Close to shopping and Central Park
Was very comfortable. With the humidity at that time, window air conditioners kept room de-humidified. Lots of closets for an older hotel. Did enjoy the "vintage" type hotel/room for a change!! A very nice suite!!

Very nice, clean hotel with good size roomsPosted Sep 27, 2014
I was delighted with my stay at the Salisbury Hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel is in a great position, close to Central Park and over the road from Carnegie Hall. My double room was a good size (indeed, twice the size of the double room I stayed in at a different hotel on my previous visit to New York), and I was impressed to find that the room came with a full sized ironing board and iron, tea and coffee making facilities, a microwave and a fridge. Also, the all you can eat breakfast buffet for $10 is great value. I would happily stay at this hotel again.

Older hotel, lovely locationPosted Sep 25, 2014
Pros: Location, space, noise level
Cons: Dated hotel (older walls), broken elevator, small bathrooms compared to the rest of the room.
Location: Top of the Rock, Radio City Music Hall, Central Park, Columbus Circle, Time Square
I stayed in a 2-bedroom suite with my sister, mom, and aunt for 3 nights. The suite was extremely spacious. The beds were firm (good for your back) and surprisingly, there wasn't too much outside noise during the night time. The location was fantastic: within walking distance to Rockefeller Center/Radio City Music Hall (7 blocks), Columbus Circle (4), Central Park (3), Time Square (about 10 blocks) eateries, and the subway station (1/2 block). There was also a pharmacy and Starbucks right across the street. The hotel is pretty old and dated, so there's wear and tear throughout the room. We wore slippers around during the stay. One of the two elevators was broken for a day, so we had to wait up to 7 minutes for one to arrive. Breakfast and Internet are optional, otherwise it's $10 per day per guest/device.

nice hotel in good postionPosted Sep 24, 2014
Pros: Size off the room, cleanliness and position
Cons: Some times had to wait a while for the lift but your on holiday, who cares!!
Location: Very near Central park which is superb . Easy to walk to Times square,Radio City ,Rockerfeller centre etc.
old style hotel . We had a suite that was very spacious at the back off the hotel. Not the best view but was away from the trafic noise on 57th street. Far enough away from Times square and some off the main attractions to be less frantic but in easy walking distance. Easy to pick up hop on hop off busses . Plenty off good eating aruond the area. the hotel buffet breakfast very good value.

Satisfactory stay at the SalisburyPosted Sep 22, 2014
Although rather dated, the hotel suited our purposes well. It is within walking distance of Central Park and very close to a subway station, so a good location for exploring New York's sights. The reception staff and porters were helpful and friendly. We had a large room with two queen sized beds. The decor was slightly tired, but the room was clean. It had a box unit air conditioner which was very efficient, but quite noisy. The bathroom was old-fashioned, but everything worked fine. The continental breakfast served on the 3rd floor was excellent value. The only problem we had during our stay was that our room was not made up the day before we left. We only discovered this when we returned from sight-seeing in the early evening. By then, however, the housekeeping staff had left and there was no one available to clean the room and make the beds. The reception staff were apologetic, but could do nothing.

Close to Time SquarePosted Sep 22, 2014
Everything is ok, except it was noisy at night due to street traffic.
