Older hotel but great location

Posted Aug 27, 2014
The overall feel of the hotel was that it was a little older, but the location was great. Close to Central Park, Times Square and a subway station it made seeing the sights very easy.

August 2014

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: Staff helpful and hotel extremely clean although decor a little dated. Lifts worked ok but you get a feeling they could do with an upgrade.
Cons: Free WIFI would be useful as available in lots of public places.
Location: Good location for Central Park. Carnigie Hall also extremely close.Easy access for subway to all other parts of the city.
Whole trip booked online and went smoothly. Due to traffic, transfers to/from airport can take some time. Eating out at restuarants can be expensive but alternative to restuarants can be found.

Dull

We had a rear room overlooking other rooms. The room was ok, but for the money lacked something. The minibar was unnecessary and not appropriate. Staff were faultless but the general feeling was - can't be bothered.

Good hotel, in an excellent location

Posted Aug 24, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Decor
Salisbury hotel is a little tired, but obvious work is being done to improve it. The reception isn't inspiring and doesn't reflect the rest of the hotel very well. The rooms are of a good size and very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is offered at $10 per person, and we thought good value for the amount of choice for a continental breakfast. The hotel is in an ideal location, just moments from Central Park and only 10 - 15 minutes to Times Square. We would stay there again, despite some negative comments.

Great location. Good staff

Posted Aug 22, 2014
Pros: Location, staff
Cons: Bathroom, some amenities
Location: Central PArk, 5th Avenue, Rockefeller Center, Carnegie Hall
We stayed there for two nights. After arriving, we left the luggage and they took it with no charge. I was upgraded to a suit at no cost because there were no more single rooms left. The good things: the hotel is good located. Also, it has an agreement with a parking lot and give parking for 24 usd per day (a great deal in Manhattan). The rooms are fine and the staff is very gentle. Paul helped us with the luggage, and he talked with us for a while about the hotel and the amenities. You get a great price for the location. Some parts of the rooms seem old but not a big deal. The room was clean. I would stay there again.

Great Central location and good for families

Posted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: The Central location and large suites suited both our families well. Staff responded promptly to a problem we had with the sofa bed in the lounge .
Cons: The decor/furnishings could do with being modernised or repaired. The sofa bed was broken but was replaced the 1st night with a single bed.
Location: Great location as it was central to all the places we wanted to visit. It was easy walking distance to Times Square, Central Park & Rockerfella.
This hotel catered well to our needs. Two families of 4 (children being teenagers) travelled in August and spent 5 nights in the hotel. We stayed in a large hotel suite which had two double beds in one room and a sofa bed in the lounge area. The suite had four good sized walk in wardrobes which was great. A small kitchen area provided a fridge, microwave and tea/coffee facility. The hotel room was clean and the towels were changed daily. We had a nice continental breakfast on one day of the week only as there are some great restaurant diners around serving hot breakfast at a reasonable price. I had initial problems getting to sleep due to the noise of outside traffic, however, tiredness due to being out all day and evening soon solved this. We would definitely stay in this hotel again and would recommend it to others.
