“great, very nyc hotel”
we will come again, super location, and great staff, very and geniously friendly.
“quiet convenient hotel in midtown NY”
Very quiet in spite of the good location in midtown. The bath tub was big enough to soak with my kid and the real separate living room was spacy and convenient. The parking lot was not far (1 block).
“Great Place for tourist to stay.”
What a wondrful stay in NYC! This hotel was perfect for what we wanted. There are subway lines at each end of the block: (Take the F train to 57th St. when coming from the airport, hotel is 1/2 block away across the street) There is a large 24hr Duane Reade drug store with a small grocery dept. across from the hotel. It is a very old building, but by New York standards, you get a very nice hotel for the $. It is not fancy at all and doesn't have much of a lobby for sitting around in; but why would you since you have all of NYC just outside the door. We had a king size bed in a large bedroom with a sofa sleeper in the other room, large flat panel TV in each room. A small fridge and microwave. These were small apartments back in the day (even still have the door bells {non-functioning} on the door post.) We normally stay at our daughter's place up on 120th and 2nd Ave. when we come to NYC; but she had company and her place was full. This was so convienent, we may stay there again even when her place is available. The south end of Central Park is only 2 blocks north, so I went walking each morning while my wife was getting ready. Time Square is a short walk south. Easy to catch a cross-town bus if you wanted to get to either side of Central Park and go further north. The only real complaint is that there is a fire station a couple blocks away, so we did hear the firetrucks leaving the station with horns blowing fairly often ( here again; it is NYC you know.)
“plan your trip today”
Fabulous inside (We had 2 rooms reserved so the checkin clerk asked us if we would rather the suite - YES, it felt like an apartment with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms a mini kitchen/dinning room and plenty of living space for the kids) and out (2 blocks to a carriage ride through central park, a few more blocks to time square, fao schwartz, top of the rock ect, not to mention the restaurants and deli store only doors aways)!
“Perfect for a NY Theater Weekend”
We found the Salisbury pleasant, comfortable and quiet with an easy walk to the theatre district. This hotel was perfect for our needs.
“Great hotel in a great location”
While this hotel is certainly older, it has been well-maintained and the staff is absolutely top-notch. The location is nearly perfect with easy access to Central Park, shopping areas and great restaurants. The rooms are big, so you really get a good deal for the money. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends.
“Great Location!”
We had a great time in NY while staying at this hotel. Its location is perfect because we were able to walk to Central Park, Times Square, the stores on 5th Avenue, the Upper West Side. and other areas were wanted to visit. The staff was friendly and helpful, our suite was very spacious and clean, and the location of the hotel was perfect for us/
“Salisbury Manhattan wont let you down”
Could not have been happier with my stay at the Salisbury. In general the myth of the rude New Yorker is squashed by the staff. I dealt with probably 10 different people during my stay and all were nothing short of remarkable. Check in was a breeze, rooms were quickly and effectively cleaned and the location was superb. Price was more than reasonable I thought. Now there arent a lot of bells an whistles (pools, fitness center, etc.) but if you're staying in Manhattan, are you really wanting to lazy about the room? The next chance I get to visit NYC, I will not hesitate to book Salisbury. Just an aside, these folks believe in truth in advertising. They really are right across the street from Carnegie Hall and within easy walking distance of Broadway and Central Park.
“Love, love, love this hotel!”
We stay at this hotel every time we go to NYC. We are always more than pleased with the hotel. The location is perfect and the room is always clean.
“Recent NYC stay”
