Worth Considering

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: Room was clean and a great bed & pillows. Hotel in a great position to walk to everything
Cons: An overall upgrade
Location: Great location and for us who do a lot of walking everything was accessable inclusing Central Park, Times Square.
We stayed 12 Nights in a suite which was more than comfortable. We requested a room away from the front so that it was less noisier and this is recommended. All staff were friendly & helpful with our requests, bookings and general queries. The hotel needs an upgrade on appearance

Fabulous stay

I'd really recommend this hotel. The decor is a little old fashioned, but it's really clean, very comfortable and really well located. A very enjoyable stay, would definitely stay there again.

Excellent location, spacious rooms

Posted Oct 16, 2014
Pros: Suite was spacious, plenty of room for four; 2 queen beds, a sofa bed and pleasant bathroom, with good shower. Excellent value, breakfast optional.
Cons: The elevator service was a little on the slow side.
Location: 57th Street, opposite Carnegie Hall, just a few minutes' walk from Central Park, Fifth Avenue, Columbus Circle and Bloomingdales.
We had a three day stay in New York for a family of four. The staff were helpful with whatever needed and were quick and efficient. They organised a private hire vehicle to take us and our luggage to Newark, which worked really well. There was an optional breakfast in the hotel which was great value for money and extremely popular (so there was some queuing, but no real hassle). The location was particularly superb, walking distance from Central Park, Times Square, the Empire State and the Rockefeller Centre, as well as many other attractions.

Cons: Bathroom
Location: Very close to many things. We walked to a lot of sights.
Great location! Clean but old. Liked the character although bathroom could use some updating.

Perfect location!

Posted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Consider adding hot cereals (not instant though)
Location: Time Square, theatre district, Central Park, Carnegie Hall, Russian Tea Room, to name a few are all in walking distance. Subway just a few steps away
This is the fourth time I have stayed at The Salisbury. It is in a perfect location. Staff is awesome and helpful. Suite is large, clean and beds are comfy.

Nice hotel

Posted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: I liked the location of this hotel, it was a couple minutes walk to Central Park and 5th Avenue.
Cons: The room comes with a microwave and fridge (no cooker). The mattress on the sofa bed is only thin.
Location: Supermarket deli with hot buffet food, Angelo's, Starbucks, souvenir shop, Rue 57, Carnegie Deli, and wine shop on street behind the hotel.
I would return to this hotel if I was to visit New York again. Felt very safe. Thought the hotel was good value for the location. Breakfast is available for $10.00 serving selection of pastries, toast, eggs, yogurts, fruit, pancakes etc. There is a market deli across the road with café upstairs. You can get take out food from there which includes a hot and cold buffet and take it back to the hotel or if you prefer get a take out from the Italian restaurant (not just pizza). Towels are changed daily and bedding after third night. Front desk very helpful with directions and recommendations for nights out.

The pullout couch was broken, so the staff brought in 2 rollaway beds. Hotel is old but clean, and staff are very friendly. Can't beat the size of room and location for the price.
