New York New YorkPosted May 24, 2015
Pros: The friendly staff, the quality of the room and the option to enjoy a meal on the roof of the hotel
Cons: A bit more lighting. I assume I is dark for a reason but the hallways need a bit more light.
Location: Around the corner from Times Square, walking distance to Broadway and many places to eat.
This hotel has awesome staff from the bellboy to the check in staff. It is well situated around the corner from Times Square. The Hotel is quite dark inside but in no way detracts from the quality of your stay. We had a free breakfast included in our stay which was a nice touch. I would recommend to anyone looking for a good quality hotel in Midtown.

Amazing Location and Fantastic servicePosted May 12, 2015
Pros: The Staff
Cons: More storage in the bedroom e.g an extra set of drawers.
Location: 1 minute walk from Times Square. 3 minutes from Top of the Rock. 15 minutes from Central Park
From the moment we arrived at the hotel the staff were fantastic and incredibly helpful. The Hotel is within a minute walk from Time Square in a fantastic location. The rooms were very comfortable, although not very big (as you would expect in New York). The view from our room was he hotel next door, but it didnt really matter as we didnt spend a great deal of time in our room. The hotel has 2 bars downstairs and an amazing room top bar on the 9th floor (well worth a visit). We had complimentary continental breakfast included with toast, bagels, fruit yogurts etc, which was a really good gesture. The Wi-fi is also free and pretty good. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Great locationPosted May 1, 2015
Pros: Location to Times Square, restaurant, free breakfast, clean and staff is so friendly.
Cons: Beds were not comfortable
Location: Lots of restaurants and close to Times Square
Great location, friendly staff and clean. Our room was so small. When we checked out I asked if there were bigger rooms and there were - too bad I didn't ask for a bigger room when we first saw the room.

Stayed 5 nights and can't recommend the Sanctuary more. Warm welcome from the lovely staff, rooms are very comfy and the rooftop bar Haven is always buzzing!

Mid-town Manhattan 'boutique' hotelPosted Apr 22, 2015
Pros: Location, staff, helpfulness and willingness of staff to listen even if they couldn't do much about our grumbles.
Cons: Lighting in the rooms - impossible to read. Sound-proofing to overhead Haven restaurant. AC fans too noisy. Elevators slow & busy with Haven clients.
Location: Close to theatres, restaurants, MoMA, libraries, stations, shopping.
We chose this hotel to be near to museums and libraries and it delivered in this respect. It's only a few years old, but the design of the hotel had not been well thought through. Our room was on the top floor at the back, facing a brick wall, quite dark. Above all it was noisy, especially in the evenings, for two reasons. First the popular Haven public restaurant was just above our room on the ninth floor, and the sound proofing is inadequate. Loud music from the live artists and disco disturbed us until after midnight. We also heard the loud voices of customers revelling and enjoying themselves. Fair enough, but why put guest rooms just below? Also, the elevators were heavily used by restaurant clientele, making it difficult sometimes for residents. We wondered was it a hotel with a restaurant/club or a restaurant with a hotel attached? Decor of the rooms was faux-opulent, but poorly lit. Continental Breakfast was included, though this made the overall price higher, and it was always unexciting - coffee dreadful unless paid extra for espresso etc. Staff were super NYC positive and obliging, but overall it was an overpriced and only mediocre hotel experience and my week's stay was definitely underwhelming.

rekommenderas varmt"Posted Apr 12, 2015

Best hotel in the city!Posted Apr 12, 2015
I stayed for a week with my fiancé at the sanctuary hotel in April 2015 and we absolutely loved it! You are right round the corner from Times Square and within walking distance of fifth ave, ave of the Americas and even the Empire State Building. The hotel staff were incredibly helpful including Brandon and Andrew the concierges who are more than happy to help with local restaurants, sights and directions! We requested a high floor room to block out noise from the traffic and we didn't hear a thing. Bed was comfy, room snug but perfect for a couple. Lovely shower and always very clean. I would defiantly recommend the sanctuary hotel, enjoy New York!

Great location!!Posted Apr 12, 2015
Pros: The added security of requiring your room key to activate the elevator and the presence of the doormen. Free Wi-fy & nutritious continental breakfast.
Location: 1block from Broadway street & easy walking distance to Broadway shows, Rockefeller Center, Grand Central Terminal and even the Empire State building.
A block off Broadway provides an excellent location for this hotel. The hotel staff, especially the concierge Andrew were terrific! The Irish Bar Langans is on the same street and is a great place for a meal (excellent food at a reasonable price) or a drink after sight seeing or a Broadway show. Langans staff are also great, friendly and accommodating.
