Great location

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: Location, staff and great elevators! We were on the 35th floor.
Cons: Location of restrooms in public spaces should be better marked. Morning coffee availability in lobby.
Location: Times square, theaters and tour bus.
Room was clean and elevator service was very efficient.

The location was perfect

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: the location was perfect for the outings we had planned
Location: the location was perfect for the outings we had planned - i.e. Central Park, Broadway, GCT, restaurants and easy access to the subway
the location of the hotel was perfect for the activities we planned. if a venue was too far to walk, we simply hopped on the subway. if we return to NYC, this hotel will be our first choice.

Great place in NYC

Posted Jul 21, 2014
This was a newly remodeled Sheraton about half way between Times Square & Central Park (about 5 blocks in each direction). They decorated with a mixture of modern & traditional. You can tell they used quality materials. The price we found was very reasonable for NYC. Our room had 2 queen beds so I think it was a little larger than a room with only a king bed. The subway was less than half block around the corner to the north so it was easy getting back to our hotel at the end of each night. We had friendly & helpful workers at the lobby & for housekeeping too. So many places to eat within 2 blocks of hotel. Try the Pastrami Sandwich @ Carnegie Deli. The bread & meat were so juicy but not fatty. I thought it was better than Kats Deli. Also strongly recommend the Halal Guys right on the north corner of the hotel. They had about 3 or 4 booths on each of the corners that had a line of about 15 people each but are usually a late night experience (around 11-12 midnight) for both locals & tourists alike.

Nice hotel, great location

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Just spent a week at the Times Square Sheraton. The hotel is nice, the staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean, and the location was ideal. I will stay again next time I am in NYC.

Very rude hotel staff. Poor room security

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: The location is too busy. Better to stay at hotel further away from Time square
Cons: Security. Politeness of staff.
Location: Times Square- too busy- takes too long walk anywhere from there because there are just too many people on the pavements i the entire area.
Left room key in room. Reception would not let me back into my room. Had to be escorted by security. Was told must return to my room with identification. However after security escorted me to my room, they did not wait with me while I got my ID and went to reception. I did not bother and there was no follow-up by anyone. So security does not exist. If you have the name and room number you can get access to any room through security! Rubbish. I cannot stay at a hotel willing to let anyone into my room with that basic information. Every time I queued up at reception it was a 10-15 min wait. The idea of service is lost on this hotel.

Great hotel great location

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: close to the actions but a little away from it so that you can still have a good night sleep
Cons: Some equipment (i.e., ice maker) can be updated.
The hotel is a couple of blocks from Times Square and yet a little ways from Times Square. The hotel itself is well run, very clean and great service. The cleaning staff are courteous. The only thing is that the ice-maker on my floor is old and has not been working the whole time and I had to walk up and down the stair to get ice. the hotel obvious is aware of this but was not able to fix the ice maker within at least a number days.

More crowded then the grand central terminal

Posted Jul 15, 2014
By the time I got to the hotel, I instantly felt something is not right. The sheraton logo is the only thing reminding me that the cab driver did not drop me off at grand central terminal. The lobby is so crowded that I literally have to push the way toward the reception desk. There were lot of tourist, 200 dressed up high school students with ID on their neck who apparently do not live in the hotel, and most amazingly, 40 emirates flight attendants in uniform. I waited in line for more than 20 minutes before a cold-faced representative checked me in. Then I have to fight my way to the elevator. The room was okay, but the toddlers next door and the endless never-stop-talking guests walking in the hallway did a unbelievable job keeping my room just as noisy as the lobby. The entire hotel was just as noisy and crowded, if not even more, as the first couple of hours I got there, for my entire 4 days stay. I once wanted to see concierge, while there were 10 people in line, only 1 representative was behind the desk. And She was incredibly slow. The hotel charged me 10 USD for leaving a small bag at the "business center" for my friend to pick up just 30 minutes later, and at the day of my departure, I wanted to leave my bags at the check room so I can go buy some stuff, they charge 4 USD per bag!!! Overall, the hotel was the worst SPG hotel I ever stayed with. Words to the wise, if you are looking for same location, choose Hilton across the street.

Close to Times Square radio city hall

Too small the beds and room not comfortable for a family of four felt claustrophobic in that room
