“No Water Pressure”

“large and clean room”

Large and clean room. 15-20 minutes walk to Broadway and Times squares. 2 blocks from subway. Very helpful staff. Nice restaurant and bar on the 1st floor. Will go back next year.

Must see

-- NYC public library-- free tours 11:00am, 2:00pm M-F. -- The United nations building-- nice museums and free tours as well. -- Take subway to Brooklyn and walk the Brooklyn bridge-- great views of the city and the Washington bridge. -- 9/11 memorial: book tickets on line in advance. Entrance is free.

“Good Value and Location”

We spent a lot less money than some other hotels and we were able to walk to all the Mid-Town Manhattan attractions. I would stay at the Skyline Hotel again without hesitation.

“Our new go-to place”

If you want breakfast in bed or plan to spend The day at the hotel you might want to look elsewhere. But, the rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, and our stay was flawless. For this family of five, we were very pleased.

“Great location, a little old”

Skyline Hotel was a very reasonably priced hotel on the corner of 49th and 10th Avenue. The hotel is located within a15 minute walk of Broadway, Times Square, Central Park, Radio City Music Hall, and many other venues. The subway is around 2-3 blocks away. The hotel is a bit warned down. However, some hotel room features like the TV, dressers, art work, etc. are updated. Linens, carpets, and drapes left little to be desired. They weren't dirty, they were just old. The walls are a bit thin but didn't stop me from sleeping, my room was located behind the elevator but it wasn't noisy. Overall, it was a the perfect hotel for its location, safety, and place to rest your head. If you are coming to New York to hang out in your room then Skyline isn't the best but who comes to NYC to hang out in their room.

“LocationLocationLocation!”

This was the perfect layover for our very brief but intense visit to New York! We were within walking distance of our venue and located within a short subway's trip to nearly everything we wanted to see or do. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the bed was super-comfy and the room clean. I hope to come back to NYC for a longer visit next time and if I do, I will stay here, no doubt about it.

Jane's Carousel in Brooklyn Bridge Park/DUMBO area....this carousel came from my hometown (Youngstown Ohio) and I remember riding it during my childhood and early teen years at Idora Park, its original home. Jane Walenda did an outstanding job of refurbishing and rennovating this piece of history; it was a true labor of love on her part and I cried when I rode it on our visit in November 2011, remembering the past. It is housed in a glass pavillion which only enhances its old-time beauty, especially after twilight. GO!!
