Good location for Walkers

Posted Sep 14, 2014
Pros: The hotel was chosen as our tour started from here.
Cons: Ability to have refreshments in the room.
Location: We caught the Circle Line ferry and circled around Manhattan giving a very good overview of New York and again went on an evening dinner cruise.
This hotel is fairly close to Times Square, the MRT, laundrette, Hop on Hop Off starting terminal and piers, not too far to walk so quite a good position. The rooms were adequate although no coffee machine, Wall safes and free wifi in the room. We did not eat there but there are numerous places around. All in all very convenient to just about everywhere.

Pity it wasn't nearer to the Metro (tube station)

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Room - very helpful concierge
Cons: More information about meals in the resturant
Location: Not too much to do locally - have to travel.
Nice, friendly - not too big hotel. Many Deli's locally - good air con - good room cleanliness - shame too far from the Metro.

Lovely hotel, brilliant location

Posted Sep 3, 2014
Pros: Comfy room, lovely view, convenient location, friendly staff
Cons: The cleaning service tried to enter our room despite putting the do not disturb sign on the door.
Location: Walking distance to Times Square (brilliant), USS Intrepid (good), Broadway (brilliant), good restaurants nearby and very close to Subway stop
I stayed at this hotel with a friend for 7 nights this August. We had a superior double (2 double beds in 1 room) and were really happy with the room and the hotel. The room was lovely, the beds were comfy and the bathroom was good. We both found it a little tricky getting the water balance right in the shower to start with but onvce we figured it out it was fine all week. The hotel was in a great location (10 minutes walk from Times Square, and about 7 minutes from a subway stop) which was great for a first time visit to NY. We didnt eat breakfast in the hotel, but did go to the reccommended Georgio's and it was fantastic.

Dated and somewhat dirty

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: The location, the price, and the quiet.
Cons: The decor needs serious updating and cleaning.
Location: You are five or ten minutes' walking distance from theaters and a restaurants, and fifteen or twenty minutes from Times Square.
We booked this hotel because we were told that the room was a suite with beds in two different rooms. What we got was two beds in one room, and a seating room--separated by a glass-paned double-door, with a sofa bed. The sofa bed was uncomfortable, and our kids could not sleep on it because the mattress was too thin, causing the cross-bar to press against their backs. The room itself was somewhat dirty-looking, with stains on the carpet. On the other hand, the price was fairly low. The location was quiet (which is what we were looking for), and the hotel was easy walking distance to the theaters, Times Square, and many restaurants. This hotel could really be something if they spend a little money and update the interior.

Pleasant hotel near our family.

Posted Aug 30, 2014
Pros: Very convenient location for trips to all areas of NY.
Cons: Wifi access we found to be a little suspect. It opened a 'can of worms' in the way of unwanted adverts and, even worse, started to jam our system.
Overall the staff were very pleasant and helpful. We were allowed a modest discount as we use this hotel regularly to visit family. The tapas bar attached seems to be extremely noisy at all times and quite expensive for what is on offer, so breakfast is not really an option (we bought in our own & used room fridge) & we found alternative good bars & restaurants for other meals, plenty available!

Fab hotel in Hell's Kitchen

Posted Aug 30, 2014
Pros: Location, price, amenities
Cons: Hooks or more rails needed in the bathroom - the only thing I can think of!
Location: Lots of fab little delis, bars and restaurants on 10th Avenue very close by. Only a ten minute walk into Times Square or Pier 83 for the Circle Line.
This was the third time I've stayed at the Skyline and it was as good as always. Conveniently located just a ten minute walk from Times Square, this is a budget hotel with 5 star attitude. Very friendly helpful staff, clean spacious rooms, lovely pool, comfortable beds, great food and service in the restaurant - all you need for a stay in NYC. I will definitely be back again and would recommend The Skyline to everyone.

Nice rooms and nice location

Posted Aug 26, 2014
There are many flea pits in NY but this is not one of them. A nice hotel at a reasonable (for NYC) price. Helpful staff and the swimming pool is a big bonus for tired legs at the end of the day. Near to Time Square and all the fab restaurants of Hells Kitchen.

Room need renovation. The air conditionner was so noisy we have to turn it off during the night. Close to Times Square and the subway. Only 10$/night for parking. Free wi-fi. Staff was nice and quick to respond.
