We were told they were upgraded are room at check in. When we got there it was a fitness room. It was our anniversary weekend so it was very unromantic to have all this fitness gear in the room. Not what we were expecting or what we would have wanted.

Nice place with very central location

Posted Oct 17, 2014
Pros: great shower, clean, spacious for NYC standards, close to transportation
Cons: great experience. not suggested improvements
Location: it's smack in the middle of nyc. you can do anything and everything. especially theater and sporting events.
I needed a last minute hotel while in NYC and this was a perfect choice. Very clean and modern. A little sophisticated. Price point was very reasonable. As an Expedia+ gold member I also got an upgrade so that made for an even better experience.

Great room. Good location. Lackadaisical staff. When we needed a cab, the bellhop was deep in conversation on his cell as to whether to bring chicken wings or thighs home for dinner. We tried in vain to get a cab while he did his best to avoid eye contact. We went inside and asked the concierge twice for help but to no avail. We finally got the cab ourselves. On our way out the next morning, we were offered a complimentary breakfast by the concierge. Nice! Not so fast, there was a catch. We would have to travel across town and listen to a time share spiel first!!! Really? On the good side, the rooms were were lovely and the beds comfy.

Pros: Loved the room.
Cons: There was a lot of construction by the hotel but really can't change that.
Came for a quick 48 hours and we had a great stay at TRYP. We liked being so close to the subway and used it to get everywhere. We also enjoyed walking to Times Square. Which was a 15-20 minute walk.

Great hotel, great location, modern clean and bew

We had an excellent stay, good location to time square etc. didn't like being unsold on the Wyndam brand by some sales guy trying to get us to attend a seminar on investing in their hotels. Other than that was a wonderful experience and an enjoyable stay.

Good Hotel, Good Location

Posted Oct 7, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, clean and modern rooms, fair price, nice bar. good location.
Cons: walls/ceilings were too thin. I suggest trying to designate people to floors IE people who want a good nights sleep versus people who want to party
Location: time square and good shopping less then 20 minute walk away. Subway will get you every where else. Cabs are pretty cheap.
Overall my experience with this hotel was ok. The room was very clean with a modern feel. The staff was very friendly (Alphonso the concierge was great) . the hotel itself had a very clean, well kept appearance. We were about a 5 minute walk from penn station (which is good because we flew into Newark and trained into the city). Many of the main things we wanted to do was less then a 20 minute walk (or even quicker walk to the subway) The primary downside was 3 nights in a row we got no sleep. The walls and ceiling have very little in the way of soundproofing. One night i would have blamed it on extremely loud neighbors, but three nights with different adjoining rooms left me to think the hotel walls/ceilings were very thin with little insulation. I am not a light sleeper by any stretch either. This is why i would not recommend this hotel to anyone else. The other downside was Wyndham trying to get my wife and i to go to another wyndham to listen to their timeshare pitch. Don't fall for the trap of "did you get your free gift".

Nice hotel but boo for trying to sell timeshare

Posted Oct 7, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Not try to sell you a Timeshare
Location: walking distance to times square, macy's, empire state building, hells kitchen and the garment district
Hotel was a good location walking distance between the train station and the bus station. The hotel was clean cute bar in lobby with happy hr specials limited tapas menu but good for snacking. Rooms where clean and not noisy couldn't hear the outside traffic or inside noise.
