Great location for theater district in NYC.

Staff at hotel greets you as soon as you get to front door. Front desk and bell man continues warm welcome. It's obviously that the hotel staff is proud of the heritage of the Algonquin Hotel. Only disappointments are the recent Hilton Hotel management has changed the wallpaper in hall ways keeping with the, heritage of the hotel.

A definite B+ and would stay again.

Posted Jun 23, 2015
If you want to stay at the premium or super-luxe hotels, then you will be paying a good bit more for a little more room, more spacious halls, lobby, elevators, etc., but this place is very nice and has loads of character. It is just far enough off Time Sq. to give you a little relief from the bustle. Yes, the room was small and the bathroom was tiny (corner set shower), but it was very much worth staying there and I would do so again, if the price is less than what I can get in to a premium place for. Bottom line: Really nice historic hotel. Highly recommend if this price is reasonable.

Hotel excellente situation mais en perte de vitess

Posted Jun 12, 2015
Pros: Sa situation, son confort
Cons: L'amabilité à la réception
Location: Times square - Bryant Park

Great location close to everything yet quite

Posted Jun 5, 2015
Pros: Location and elegant charm.
Cons: size of bathroom
Beautiful old hotel. King size bed very comfortable and room size fine for two people. Bathroom very small but not an issue for my daughter an I. Only one person could get ready at a time. If you are a large person you will have a hard time turning around in the shower. Staff very helpful and friendly. Fresh coffee in lobby in the morning. Quite street away from the hustle and bustle of time square but only a 5 minute walk to all shows. Perfect location. If you have more than two people you would need a larger room or suite. My daughter and I felt very safe. Would stay here again if only two of us.

Elegant, old New York Hotel

Posted May 19, 2015
Pros: Quiet helpful staff. Good location. Close proximity to Broadway theaters; we saw 5 great shows--musicals.
Cons: The booking company should inform as to room dimensions; ours felt like 12x12--too small. Also, if larger options are available, include with costs.
Location: It's midtown Manhattan. Their are a million things to do. Shopping is great. Restaurants excellent in all price ranges.
The Algonquin has a wonderful history of gathering literati that has been preserved in the bar and lobby. The staff were polished and eager to assist in every way. I am a collector of floor clocks; a very helpful young man, Nick, I believe, gave me a brief history of the magnificent grandfather clock in the central lobby as well as the late-night song-writing antics of Lerner and Lowe on the 9th floor--quite interesting. Our room, however, a standard, though well-appointed, was too small for two with one bag each for four nights. There were two night stands with two small drawers, one desk with one small jewelry drawer--very nice, and a larger bureau-type stand, again, with two small drawers. The closet was acceptable with lots of hangers, but unpacking foldables was impossible because of limited space.

Perfect location for theatre lovers

The historic Algonquin has been lovingly renovated by Marriott to restore its former glory. Staff impeccable, the lounge a Midtown Manhattan institution, and comfy wee chambres to deluxe suites. If you look closely, you might see Matilda the cat! Best of all, pretty much every Broadway show is a 5 minute walk away.
