“GREAT PLACE TO BE”
great stay loved it its a very classy hotel
“Can't beat the location”
You are in the middle of Times Square, you can't find a better location. The hotel is fine if you are planning on spending your vacation out of your hotel room (like you should do on vacation to NYC!) We had two double beds in our room and a small corner table/chair - for NY it was very roomy. The bathroom was small, extremely obvious that this was not a newer hotel but the shower was clean, the floors were clean and the staff was very nice. Yes, it could use some updating and maybe the old paint should have been removed before a new layer of new paint but for the price/location and being clean.... very happy!
“Perfect for us”
The Edison is a reasonably-priced large hotel right in the midst of the New York Theater District. Though older, the hotel is well kept, has beautiful art deco touches throughout, and a busy NY feeling without the extremely high prices of many other hotels. We enjoyed our two night stay very much and would return, though once was enough at Christmas -- too many people in too much rain.
“Filthy and overpriced.”
This may be the worst hotel in Midtown Manhattan. Not only is the service terrible and the rooms depressing, it's dirty. Literally, it smells bad. And it's not even cheap. Avoid at all costs.
“Perfect location for holiday weekend in NYC”
I stayed at the Edison Hotel with my 7-year-old daughter over a weekend trip to NYC at Christmastime. The location is ideal - we walked everywhere we needed to go (Times Square, Rockefeller, 5th Ave, Radio City, Central Park…) and jumped the R train (station is 1/2 block away) to head downtown. The hotel staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Our room was clean and provided the basics - comfortable bed - hot shower. It you're looking for the W, it's next door. If you're looking for comfortable, affordable hotel in midtown than the Edison Hotel is a good option.
“they charged me for my room upon departure when it was pd for upon arrival. Still waiting to b credi”
This hotel charged me upon my departure. Records showed that I pd through expedia before i arrived. they told me they would not do this. still waiting to be credited, never again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“Ready to come back”
The hotel was absolutley everything I could have imagined. The only complaint is that the hotel never had any ice available.
“Location good. Hotel not good.”
A hotel in midtown is convenient. It was very easy for us to get around and we were near the show we were there to see. But the room and hotel was not clean (think moldy shower curtain and old carpet staleness.) The staff was not very friendly or helpful. We arrived early (12p) after getting off the red eye and hoped to get an early check-in. The first person we talked to informed us that checkin was at 3pm. Tired and useless we ended up trying to sleep on the floor of the overcrowded lobby. An hour later we asked a different front desk agent if there was anything available and she gave us a room. For the price and if you want to be near Time Square or the Theatre district this hotel will be fine. If you want a nice hotel this is not it.
“Great location.”
The location was great, Times Square. Room was very clean. Front desk clerks were nice. Security person placed at elevators. I would recommend this hotel.
“Great Location”
Good location, room was clean but very small.
