Very pleasant stay at the Edison good Location

Posted Nov 26, 2014
Pros: Great Location friendly staff overall cleanliness.
Cons: The heating system, our room system was not working properly, staff supplied a portable heater. Some room need an upgrade in decor and furniture.
Location: Close to all the main attractions in New York and very good restaurants. All main shows close by . tour buses on your door step.
Nice hotel with some rooms needing an upgrade. Very helpful staff we were given a rather small room on check in, asked for a bigger room this was sorted within 15 minutes. Nice welcoming cheese and wine event on the Tuesday and Friday evenings. Overall staff were very welcoming and helpful. The Rum bar attached to the Hotel over priced. Great location for a week in New York City just off Times Square. Clean sheets and towels every day makes a very pleasant stay.

Would return to this hotel.

Pros: I loved the atmosphere and the look of the hotel. Very 1930's, 1940's looking. I also liked that it was central to everything in New York.
Cons: Again, very cold room.
Location: Times Square is right around the corner. It is in the midst of the Theatre District. Good restaurants nearby.
The Edison is very close to everything you could want in New York. Steps from Times Square made it easy to leave our hotel and walk anywhere we wanted. Our room was very clean. My only complaint is that the room was cold. We asked hotel staff at the front desk to turn up the heat. Their answer was to place a rolled-up towel against the window which helped keep the room a bit warmer but really did not resolve the problem. We let them know before we checked out that the room was still cold and we were told that staff would again speak to the manager. Other than that, I would return to this hotel next time I stayed in New York.

Theatergoer's mainstay

Posted Nov 24, 2014
Pros: The Art Deco lobby is stunning. And I enjoyed the funky Cafe Edison, a theater district institution for its matzoh ball soup.
Cons: Wi-fi is painfully slow.
Location: Broadway shows!
This is an older hotel, a little faded, half a block from Broadway, that couldn't be beat for convenience for those in New York for Broadway shows.

Great location!! The room was big but very simple and the bathroom was a bit small. The staff at reception was alright. They were very quick to get you checked in so they could move on to the next person. Overall for a stay in New York City it was perfect for what we needed and again, the location was perfect
