Location: Perfect location 1/2 block from time square.
Nice friendly staff, room was a bit small but always clean. Fresh towels and room cleaned daily. Great bar attached to hotel with good local musicians. For the amount of time we stayed in the room, it was perfect.

Small outdated roomsPosted Oct 20, 2014
I thought from the online pictures the rooms would be bigger. My room was the size of a closet. Plus the windows aren't sound proofed so you hear the traffic and the street all night. The room is also very outdated. Looks like the decor is from the 1950's.

Edison Hotel-NYCPosted Oct 19, 2014
Pros: Location close to subways.
Cons: New carpet, towels, bedspread. Refrigerator and micro-wave in room. Fix hot/cold shower regulator. Free WiFi.
Location: Location is great for subway access and to theatre district. Near some great pubs.
The Edison is a busy Hotel--lots of people from all over the world. If you are a first-timer to NYC, the location is great. Times Square right around the corner, literally. The Blue and Red lines (subways) a few blocks away and get you to just about anywhere in the city. Walk to many highlights from the hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. However, if you are looking for a modern, up-to-date hotel with complimentary WiFi, a micro-wave, refrigerator…look elsewhere--none to be found at the Edison. We did ask for a refrigerator and they brought one to the room. So, that was okay. Had to ask the staff to change out the bathroom lights that had burned out. If you want a quiet night sleep, look elsewhere. Bottom line, the Edison was a good place for us because it got us out of the room and on to the streets.

Central handyPosted Oct 18, 2014
Cons: Staff attitude
Staff thought they were superior to the guests and one particular female was very abrupt and insulting when asking to see our room key before letting us through

Good locationPosted Oct 18, 2014
Pros: The clean sheets, comfortable bed and helpful staff.
Cons: The pealing wallpaper and tempamental shower.
Location: Times Square is a minute away, along with all the shops etc. A majority of the theatres are within walking distance as are many restaurants.
The Eddison has seen better days (wallpaper pealing, chipped paint, using the shower was a bit of an art etc.) However, the sheets and towels were changed daily and the staff were very polite and helpful. It is in an excellent position just off Times Square and not expensive (for New York). It would be nice to have free WiFi in this day and age, most hotels do and even Starbucks. On the whole you don't spend a lot of time in your hotel room in New York and the bed was comfortable and clean and the location made all of our evenings out within walking distance. All the theatres are within a few blocks distance with one even in the same street.
