Theatergoer's mainstay

Posted Nov 24, 2014
Pros: The Art Deco lobby is stunning. And I enjoyed the funky Cafe Edison, a theater district institution for its matzoh ball soup.
Cons: Wi-fi is painfully slow.
Location: Broadway shows!
This is an older hotel, a little faded, half a block from Broadway, that couldn't be beat for convenience for those in New York for Broadway shows.

Great location!! The room was big but very simple and the bathroom was a bit small. The staff at reception was alright. They were very quick to get you checked in so they could move on to the next person. Overall for a stay in New York City it was perfect for what we needed and again, the location was perfect

Nice hotel, great location.

Posted Nov 24, 2014
Pros: It's close proximity to Times Square and it's surroundings.
Cons: Ability to change room temperature.
Location: Minute walk to Times Square, eateries, theaters, and the subway. Walking distance to The Empire State Building, Grand Central Station & Central Park.
This hotel is in prime location, with only a minute's walk to Times Square, theaters, eateries, and the subway. This hotels is within walking distance to Central Park which was very convenient. Being so close to everything made our stay in New York so much more enjoyable. The hotel staff were all very friendly, and we pay special thanks to the concierge who was able to answer every single one of our questions with ease. The room itself was functional, however we were disappointed to find that we could not alter the air conditioner. It was set on warm and although we went in mid November, the nights still got quite hot whilst in the room. The bathroom was quite small, with the toilet roll being tucked away under the sink which was quite dysfunctional. The water in the shower took some time to warm up which was an annoyance and a waste of water. This may have just been a problem with our room, as another couple we traveled with did not experience this. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Edison Hotel and would gladly stay there again if we were to travel to New York in later years.

New York weekend

Posted Nov 24, 2014
Pros: Price, location and service.
Cons: The shower head leaked, needs to be fixed. On our checkout day, Sunday, more staff was needed at the front registration counter.
Location: This hotel is in the middle of everything. Very easy to walk to all the shows, Rockefeller Center, and to the subway.
The hotel is old but well maintained and clean. Our room was very satisfactory given the price. Location is excellent -- literally just steps from the theaters and excellent restaurants. We like to visit Swing 46 on west 46th street, which is barely two blocks away. Staff members were friendly and service was very good. There is literally nothing to complain about! Thank you for a memorable New York weekend.

Great Location

Posted Nov 23, 2014
Pros: Location to theatres Art Deco , lobby area all the staff very friendly from the maids to bell boy and reception, about 15 minute walk from airport bus
Cons: Free wifi most hotels offer this
Location: Most of the Theatres shops Disney store, M & M, toys r us, build a bear,
We chose this hotel for the location which was ideal for bus station from Newark about 30 mins away we did have a room on the 10th floor sadly after one night being awake since 4am with road works outside we asked to change rooms, we were then demoted "yes demoted" to the 5fth floor tired smaller room on the positive side nice reception area and drinks reception happy hour, tues and Friday pm on the down side it was my birthday treat I took my two daughter to celebrate with me very disappointed no free wifi anywhere in the Hotel therefore cannot upload any picture to promote or give higher rating, we sent messages home from mc Donald's free wifi, not always ideal, this may be a 1930's Art Deco hotel which is a plus, but maybe some free wifi in the lobby area would be a bonus
