Great location & staff, room not very clean

This is a very convenient location, the staff was helpful and polite, the price was hood, but the house cleaning needs an upgrade--the room was simply not cleaned well enough.

central hotel in Times square

Posted Sep 26, 2014
Pros: Central position to Times Square and attractions
Cons: Customer service
Location: Hotel has excellent position for all theaters, shopping, major tourist attractions and Central park
stayed in one of new signature rooms which was bit on small side but very clean and comfortable. Art deco lounge was beautiful and pleasant area to sit. Chose hotel for central position. Hotel staff were efficient but could have been a bit more friendly. Service on concierge desk was poor and questions not fully addressed. At time of stay very noisy due to drilling works around times square. Would have been helpful to have had prior knowledge of this as noise continued 24/7 although not fault of hotel staff could have made us aware of this.

The Hotel Edison was in a great location. The Hotel itself was okay; not great but not terrible. It is an old building so the room wasn't modern by any means. It met our expectations for an NYC hotel, small basic room that was in line with the reasonable rate we were able to get.

Run down,poorly maintained,don't go there

Posted Sep 24, 2014
Pros: The door man was very nice and helpful getting us cabs
Cons: Implode the building and start over
Location: location was nice, lots of theaters and restaruants
My first thought entering the lobby was nice, then it's all down hill from there. the room was stale, bathroom fixtures looked piecmilled and damadged with plier marks, tup porcelin was chipped up,etc. The tv only got a small amount of free channels, and i was charged 2.12 for making a local call to order a pizza which got cold due to the deliver person being made to wait in lobby for me to come down as he was not allowed up to make said delivery. the second night i stayed the city was running a jack hammer all night and into the next day making it impossible to get sllep and hotel staff was aware of the noise bothering the guests but no type of compensation was even offered by hotel managment. Iron didnt work and the closet smelled like urine. A/C unit was unplugged and not very efficient. two rooms down the hall were being worked on but at night the doors were left open for guests to see the mess and electrical breaker box left open with wiring exposed and in reach of anyone .

Close to Time Square

Posted Sep 24, 2014
Pros: The location is fab and its great for people watching as there are people there from loads of different countries.
Cons: The staff on reception were a little slow, that said it does get busy.
Location: Loads! Its New York !!!!
This is an Art Deco hotel within a stones throw of Time Square. Plenty of staff on duty from doormen to security near the lifts and reception staff. The hotel is right in the hustle and bustle of Time Square and so is ideally situated for the tourist. The hotel style is very Art Deco and while the room corridors look a bit "tired" the rooms themselves are clean and comfortable with basic air con and a decent tv. They are cleaned every day and are all you need. Would definitely stay again. Great place

Pros: Pretty Lobby
Cons: Bigger room for the money I spent
Location: Right on Times Square which was nice
Our room was tiny !!!!! 2 twin beds with a desk and a chair, no extras no nothing !!!! Our TV didn't work, and took them a long time to fix it!! Wouldn't stay here again, very expensive!!

Right next to Times Square.

Posted Sep 24, 2014
They were doing major construction in Times Square. It would not have been bad if it was not being done at 1AM! I guess that is the only time they can work but I wish I would have known this. The hotel is very nice. Wifi is not included in room. It is extra fee. Most everything in the hotel was extra fee. Coffee shop in the hotel was in need of an update. I like diner food but this was not even up to that quality. The concierge recommended a few places to eat. I liked the Yum Yum on 9th Ave so much I went there a few times.
