“Tiny but Terrific!”

I picked this hotel because of its location and its reviews. Great price, too. This was the part of town I needed to be in and I was amazed that this little tiny place provided absolutely everything I wanted and needed for 24 hours. The staff was great-very responsive-and they were absolutely charming as well. My room was very small-not much room to walk around the bed-but beautifully designed and decorated. Modern, plain and perfect. The bathroom was really lovely and white-everything was also very clean. No extra space, no view, no restaurant-just quiet comfort and a pleasant atmosphere. I slept very well and received my early wake up call right on schedule. I love this place and I'll be back next year for the same conference.

“Great hotel at great price. Will definitely go back”

It was a pleasant stay. The hotel was clean, not too many rooms overall, so I guess that helped them to really focus on each and take good care. Loved the flat panel TVs and the heat controls in the rooms, important since I stayed in an NY winter. The bathrooms were great..The staff were friendly and were eager to help in any way....I had a great time and I'd definitely recommend to anyone

“Gem Hotel”

Very pleased with hotel - 4 rooms to a floor - very quiet - front desk very helpful - nieghborhood is questionable but I had no issues even late at night, maybe because I was born and raised there - there is a 24hr store for necessities around the corner - no refrigerator in room but highly recommend

“Quite surprised”

I was looking for a moderately priced hotel in Manhattan, not an easy task. I'm very particular about cleanliness, sound, and upkeep. The room was a tad petite, but being New York, that was acceptable. No view to speak of, but extremely quiet. Very clean building, very professional staff. Bathroom was spotless and modern. Nice widescreen as well. Bed and linens were very comfortable. Close to subway lines, and taxis everywhere. I'd stay again in a heartbeat.

“Very Nice for the Price”

During my recent trip with my family to New York, we stayed at the GEM, because it was within our budget. The room is small, but every hotel in New York has small rooms. Since it has been remodeled, the hotel is really nice. It is close to everything and if you are look to travel to New York on a budget, the GEM is the place to say.

A very nice up to date hotel, Very friendly helpful staff, In easy walking distance of city, food, very quiet. Our room had a king size bed, safe in room, plasma tv, beautiful bath. comfortable bed. Would definitely stay here again if in New York.

“The Gem”

The hotel was conveniently located near the Lincoln Tunnel,so getting in and out of Manhattan was easy. Rooms were very clean and well appointed although kind of small. This was the best deal to stay in Manhattan near all the sights and not spend a fortune. The staff was helpful and friendly. We would recommend it to others.

For the price in New York City this is a great deal. Very helpful staff and nice clean rooms. If I return to New York I hope to be able to stay here again.
