Good hotel, good location. Strange front desk.Posted Sep 26, 2014
Pros: The doorman Angel is very helpful, the hotel is lucky to have him around.
Cons: King bed room only provide with 1 bath rob, called to ask for another one, responded as: we are nice enough to upgraded you to a suite so no extra bat
Location: Wall street, Madison Park, Flatiron
Very close to Wall street, good location, convinient. Staff is very very helpful with information and luggage. Under construction, noisy.

Lovely room, great location.Posted Sep 23, 2014
Location was great, easy walk to everything. Close to subway and bike hire. Newly renovated room was lovely and the most comfortable bed of all hotels stayed in. Very helpful and happy staff.

Dirty hotel under renovations.Posted Sep 22, 2014
Cons: Too many things to write about.
Location: Wasn't there long enough to find out.
Hotel couldn't be found by cab driver due to construction. Upon entering the Hoyle there was yellow tape blocking two different areas, the floor had cracks throughout the registration area. My son and I went to our room only to find there were no drawers in the room, the closet space was so small and short. We could not hang up our clothes because the closet was so short they would become wrinkled. The beds were so close to each other and the walls there was room for only one person to walk at a time. There was a desk, but the chair could not be pulled out due to the beds were too close. The bathroom was so small I could barely turn around and there was not anywhere to put our toiletries out. If we had stayed we would have had to live out of suitcases and then they could only be opened on the beds, thus we would have to close them up every night. I immediately called to get another room at a different hotel. We checked out first thing the next morning.

Very good location - will be lovely when finsihedPosted Sep 21, 2014
Pros: Character and decor of refurbished parts.
Cons: Refurbishments finished.
Location: Centrall located just off 5th avenue a few blocks from The Empire State building
We enjoyed our stay at The Gershwin. The location was excellent, the room immaculate and the staff friendly and helpful. It was a shame that there was refurbishment going on as, although it didn't disrupt our stay, it meant we couldn't enjoy the building in its full glory. I'm sure it will be a lovely place to stay when the refurbishment is complete.

Pros: The room and bathroom were excellent

Location: Good position for subway, central park and union square
The renovations made meeting in the lobby and outside the hotel difficult. We were a large party.

Centrally located in the heart of Manhattan!Posted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: The location of the hotel is excellent and the staff goes out of there way to make the stay comfortable!
Cons: The hotel is under some renovations, but is not an inconvenience by no means!
Location: The Empire State Building is a few blocks away and subways.
This was our first time to NY and the Gershwin was an excellent choice. I can"t say enough about how nice and inviting the staff was. We will definitely stay here again.

Pros: It was an old hotel but remodeled very professionally and nicely.
Cons: The elevator was too slow.
Location: Five blocks from the Empire State Building and 8 to 9 blocks from Times Square and from the pick up point for my sight seeing bus.
Our stay was pleasant. The only thing I didn't like was that the elevator was too slow. Other than that the staff was very friendly and helpful and the room were fashionable and clean.

REASONABLE FOR NYCPosted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: Staff was very nice, friendly & attentive. Price was very good for NYC.
Cons: Need some counter space in bathroom. Need additional elevator. Also would have liked to have had coffee maker in room, or at least coffee in lobby.
Location: Being a native NY'er I knew this was not my favorite part of the city, but was convenient for my needs this trip.
Nice potential. Wish I had known it was in the middle of renovations. Elevator service was ridiculously slow. Room was clean & nicely decorated, but no dresser and no counter top in bathroom except for a very small glass shelf above sink.

Beautiful rooms!Posted Aug 2, 2014
Great hotel, in a great location. I walked all around from here. They are renovating at the moment, but I was never bothered by the repair work. Apart from seeing some tradespeople you'd hardly know. The new renovated rooms are divine!
