The hotel was very well situated close to subway

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: Good room for the price we paid
Cons: facilities for tea and coffee in the room
We found the hotel very suitable good clean room with fresh clean bed linen, we enjoyed the train going past we really knew we were in New York and it never intrupted our sleep. The staff were very helpful and advised us the best way to get to the attactions we were visiting. If we went back to New York we would stay here again, if there was any down side it was that there was no facilities for tea or coffee in our room. A most enjoyable stay.

Clean hotel on the Manhattan Bridge

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Clean, hotel staff was very nice. BUT, my room made me feel like I was in a tent on top of the Manhattan Bridge. Subway starts at 4AM or so. You get what you pay for.

Basic, but clean and quiet. Handy to subway

Pros: It served its purpose.
Location: On the edge of Chinatown, short walk to Little Italy..
Room well sound-proofed, no problem with traffic or train noise.

My room was next to train tracks, very loud all night. Room was small, but it's New York so I can't really complain about that. Overall would be a good hotel if you are on the other side away from the tracks.

If you can put up with minor subway noise and its proximity to Chinatown, this is a bargain to stay in lower Manhatten.

Strange Little Hotel

Posted Aug 23, 2014
Pros: Its decor was mostly gold.
Cons: Lots of noise in the hall early mornings. No real sense of entrance or exit or lobby. We only saw other guests twice in in three days, on the elevator
Location: In China Town. Very hard to get a taxi. Hard to figure out the layout of the area in relationship to the hotel.
This was a strange little hotel in China town. Right next to the manhattan bridge, but it wasn't really that loud in the room. The entrance was one long glass hallway leading to an elevator. Check in was on the second floor, and while the staff wasn't a problem, they were not particularly welcoming or friendly. Room was okay for NYC. Just want I would expect for a 3 star hotel. Cramped but overall clean. Don't think the housekeeping staff vacuumed or any other cleaning other than making the bed and restocking the towels.

Went to NY for a couple of days. Good price for location - very accessible by subway, although travel times can be long.

Great hotel, would definitely recommend!!

The F Line train ran right outside our window which was a little noisy, but the thick black out curtains helped block enough of the noise that it wasn't hard to sleep. The staff was all exceptionally helpful, they answered all the questions I had!! The smell outside was awful, it smelled like fish and soy sauce (china town) but inside the hotel it was immaculate and smelled wonderful!
