New York was cold and our little room was warm!

Posted Feb 27, 2015
The Jane was located perfectly for us to get to public transportation and move about the city. The price was right and the room tiny, but warm and comfortable. The staff was kind, helpful and thorough. New York was bitter cold. Thank you Jane for keeping us warm.

Pros: staff, and restaurant were great
Cons: sound proof the rooms...
Location: close to meatpacking, soho, westvillage. super convenient if you like being downtown.
I loved having Gitane in the building and the convenience of the hotel. However I was in town for business. There is a club on the top floor and on the main floor. I didn't sleep for 3 days which is horrible when staying for business. If you are in the city to party and crash its great. But if you are doing things that require energy... not the place.

Unique affordable hotel with character

Posted Feb 17, 2015
Pros: History, style, location, service, price.
Cons: Temperature control in room. Better ventilation.
Location: Fascinating neighbourhood: WestVillage and Meatpacking dIstrict. High Line. Close to 14th St/8th Ave A Train, but also easy walking up-/downtown.
I spent two nights in a bunk cabin. I wasn't the only older person, but most of the guests (not to mention the kids lined up outside to get into the club) were twenty-somethings. To find a bargain hotel in a great location with history and character and wit, at these prices, is remarkable, so it's no surprise that I faced a few inconveniences. The room is REALLY tiny, but I've travelled in train sleepers and small ship's cabins before, I am characteristically tidy in hotel rooms, and I travel light, so I could stow my stuff and fit in. I appreciated the linens, towels, robes, water bottle, and free wifi, and I never had to wait for the shared toilet, shower or sink. The room was seriously overheated. Even an open window (on the coldest night of the year) didn't really cool things down. I had requested an upper floor, so the music from the club didn't disturb me. I slept well. Not much else to do in that room! Staff were lovely and helpful. The faux French cafe restaurant downstairs was uber trendy but not very useful for me. Fortunately lots of options in the neighbourhood. Great neighbourhood! Not sure if I'd stay here again, but I was glad to have tried it. Basically, a convenient, affordable, interesting place to sleep.

Noisy and cold

Posted Feb 16, 2015
There is a nightclub just below and my room in 2nd floor pulsed with it's beat. Very drafty and cold without ability to control heat. It could be a very nice place with ambience and character. Good restaurant and cool vibe.

Nice hotel

Posted Jan 30, 2015
Very good hotel, nice and clean, good price. I spent a night at the Jane Hotel during a business trip. The hotel is clean, smells great and has good staff. It is near a couple of restaurants and major roads. I will stay again sometime in the future.

Amazing stay and perfect location!

Posted Jan 26, 2015
I have been in New York for many years, recently moved out of town and decided to get a hotel for convenience. I knew the Jane hotel but for their restaurant and rooftop. I was skeptical about the prices specially for 2 people in the West Village meat packing area. I must say I enjoyed every moment of my stay. The bathtub and shower are phenomenal, very historical! Absolutely loved the style of the room. (Of course we had a queen bed).
