Great location decent price

Posted Jul 23, 2015
Pros: The location
Cons: Fix the card reader in one of the elevator. You need a room card to go upstairs but the reader in one of the elevator took multiple attempts to work.
Location: It was right across from Rockefeller Center. Close to Central Park and Times Square
The room was fine. We got a room on the 2nd floor which with a view of the air conditioning units. THe wife wished we had gotten a room on a higher floor. The hallways were a little tight. We enjoyed the lounge. But overall my wife and I was satisfied.

Pros: Services
Cons: Bedroom services
Location: Music Hall many Subways, its near the 5th ave where you can shopping.
This is a nice place to stay guys in the front desk are doing a great Job. The whole place is clean and well decorated. It is a nice place for couple, the only bad thing after check in we found the room in a terrible condition the bed was not done yet and a big bag of trash say Hello to us. But after informing the staff it was done quickly. But after all I will give seven on ten

We enjoy rout stay. The room was comfortable and clean. The only two problems were the air conditioning was too cold and the contrs did not work; the closest place to hail a cab was two blocks away.

July 18th 2015 - Single Room with Queen Bed

Posted Jul 20, 2015
Pros: I liked everything except the $$ of the room considering the view. Would definitely stay here again but this time would wait until the price dropped.
Cons: The lounge area could be a little bigger or just more inviting. Seemed more like a waiting room with a few computers instead of a lounge area.
Location: Rockefeller Center - enough said!
Beautiful hotel inside even though scaffolding all over the place outside. Upon calling Expedia prior regarding room size as was a little concerned I was told it was about 220 Sq Ft. It was definitely bigger than I had expected, nice and roomy, not tight at all. Plenty storage and beautiful petite bathroom. Bed was huge! However, although there was no safe, there was a refrigerator, microwave and a water dispensing machine right outside the door with empty bottles at the ready, complimentary. Felt the hotel was a bit pricey even for a Saturday rate at $251, I would have been comfortable paying closer to $199 - had a with a view of air-conditioners and a building under construction. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel as it is on 51st street, good location and close to subways.

Excellent Location But Cramped Room

Posted Jul 20, 2015
Pros: The hotel was clean and well maintained in a very convenient location
Cons: Though not very feasible, larger rooms would be more suitable for pleasure travelers who are traveling in pairs or groups.
Location: The location is near a number of desirable destinations such as St Patrick's Cathedral, Fifth Avenue, Rockefeller Center, and Broadway theatres.
The location of this hotel across from Rockefeller Center is great for sightseeing, shopping and theatre. The facilities were clean and well maintained, but small and cramped. The room is fine for a single guest, but not very well suited for two or more people.

The Jewel is truly a jewel in a sea of mediocrity

Posted Jul 18, 2015
Pros: The style of the rooms were great, the Internet performance was stellar, and the terrace restaurant next door was fantastic.
Cons: The television was very slow to respond to the remote. The air conditioning was very loud.
Location: It's Manhattan - if you can't find things to do you aren't looking hard enough. This hotel has plenty to eat, do, and see nearby.
The Jewel is a modern, clean, and well equipped hotel. The rooms are at least as spacious as other similarly priced hotels but everything is new. Granite, proper business desks and chairs, large showers, and unprecedented Internet speeds make this a steal of a deal.

Perfect location. Clean, quiet building.

Posted Jul 17, 2015
Pros: I like the 2nd floor area. 2 computers and a printer for guest use with no bother of passwords. Made life easier and I could check in for flights.
Cons: Slip covers for the coffee/tea cups - the water is extremely hot and it is difficult to carry to the rooms.
Location: Fabulous location, near enough to walk to Times Square but far enough away to not have the crowds at our door. Great little deli next door.
Friendly staff. Good security as you need your key to use the elevator. We arrived early and our room was ready for us. Quite a lot of storage space in the room. Though it was a junior room it was quite sufficient for my daughter and I. The floor was quiet, couldn't hear our neighbours or the elevator. There was construction happening in the building next to our room, that would be our only negative comment. It woke us up early with the noise. Subways, restaurants, shops all nearby. Very convenient & we felt very safe in the neighbourhood. Walking distance to everything. Right across from St. Patricks church - a beautiful site to see. I'd stay again, only I would ask to be away from any outside construction noise. (if that is possible!)

Lovely Hotel in a Fantastic Location

Posted Jul 17, 2015
Pros: You have a microwave, tea & coffee maker & fridge in your room. There is a nice lounge on the 2nd floor & Laundry.
Location: Rockefellar Centre, Radio City Music Hall, Times Square & Broadway are all easy walking distance away.
The Jewel Hotel was perfect for our stay in New York. We had microwave, fridge and tea & coffee maker in our room. There is a good sized bathroom and the room is air conditioned. There are usb ports in the room for phones etc. The hotel was in a perfect location for us, across the road from the Rockefellar centre, Radio City Music Hall on the same street, around 10-15 minutes walk from Times Square and Broadway. There is a fantastic shop 2 doors away that we had breakfast in every day. You could get lunch there too. Good burger bar across the road, more restaurants & a pharmacy down the street. Lots more restaurant & subway easy walking distance away. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.
