Beautiful

Posted Mar 27, 2015
Cons: nothing
Location: terrific location, near Broadway and Times Square
What a beautiful elegant hotel at a reasonable price. I can't recommend this hotel enough. Staff was awesome and the hotel was beautiful. The location is great, walking distance to Broadway and Times Square. The rooms are huge and we also had a balcony. If you are ever in NYC treat yourself to the Kimberly, you won't be disappointed.

Beautiful, convenient, friendly staff

Wonderful hotel from start to finish. Great location. Staff very helpful with getting a crib, booking dinner reservations, late Checkout. Ralph the bellman went out of his way to chat with us, get my children coloring books and even gave us a cell phone charger!! Perfect location. Everything was a $5-7taxi ride (we could have walked most places but had 3 small children with us) very clean and spacious. We will b sure to stay there again when we return to nyc!!

Very nice, DEFINATELY recommend

My husband and I had a very nice experience. The room was actually a suite, much larger than expected. There was a small balcony, which was nice because I could open the sliding glass door and cool the room down quickly ( I like it cooler inside). (The only change I would make would be to place a better mirrow in the small alcove area near the bathroom and improve the lighting so it could be used as a dressing table.) The location is excellent, easy subway access. There is a great reasonablly priced breakfast place next door. We ate dinner at Ibis, the Mediterranean restaurant connected to the hotel, and it was fabulous. If you are looking for a techno, hip vibe, this is not your place. If you want quiet, refined, but not Ritz Carlton pricing, this will be right up your alley. PS We thoroughly enjoyed chatting with the gracious young restaurant hostess near the aquarium while we relaxed over a glass of wine. She is wise beyond her years, and so personable.

Spacious size rooms

Posted Mar 16, 2015
Pros: Size of the rooms.
Cons: The elevators were held up a few times for some VIP guest (which was a little annoying because there was only 2 elevators)
Location: Very central to museums, Central Park & shopping if you wanted to walk. Also quick to get around in the local cabs.
The Kimberly was a funky boutique style hotel. We rented a suite, which came with a kitchenette (not expected). The bathroom was small, but fully equipt. The bedroom and sitting area were spacious and furnished with antique furnishings. We had our two teenage boys with us, so the pull out sofa and rollaway were great with lots of room to spare. The conceirge was very helpful. We did not eat on premise, but the menus looked interesting. Great Value for the size (especially in NYC)!

Long in the tooth

Pros: Location good
Cons: Needs renovation badly
Great location and decent hotel, but it is long overdue for an upgrade. They try hard, but it is on the other side of its heyday.

Would go back in a heartbeat.

Pros: Cleanliness, bed linens, location.
Cons: New curtains and lamps.
Location: Midtown East is extremely convenient.
My room looked directly into the rooms at the hotel next to it. That wouldn't of been a big deal except that there were no sheer curtains on any of the windows. So my choices were either give a free show, or sit in dark. (The lamps were older than I am and did not give that much light) Now even though I led with a negative, I would highly recommend this hotel. The beds were comfortable, the room was huge, the location was ideal. Having a little kitchenette was an added bonus. I wasn't bothered by the siren sounds (8th floor) because I live in the city and I'm used to it, but I thought it was a nice touch that the hotel gives ear plugs for guests who aren't used to it. There's a lounge on the lop floor for guests to use as well as one in the lobby.

Pros: The staff were tremendously friendly and helpful.
Cons: we had a little trouble with the heat/air conditioning. The room was too warm.
Location: Tons of good restaurant options all within a short walk.
We had a very nice overnight stay. Great location to sample any number of good restaurants within a short walk.
