Good hotel, great location in NYC

Pros: the location; the décor. Also, I forgot my shoes in my room and checked out, and the staff were very helpful when I came back to pick them up.
Location: I was attending meetings at the UN and the location is excellent for this - walking distance
I chose this hotel based on very good reviews in Expedia, and it even surpassed my expectations. I like the décor, and for New York City I thought it was an excellent price, and I would recommend paying the rate that includes breakfast - good value

Nice hotel

Pros: Location Lobby and restaurant
Cons: Housekeeping Free wifi
Rooms are small and you can hear your neighbors shower etc so do not expect to sleep past 7:39 am. Housekeeper forgot to leave face cloths each day.

Great staff but difficult to get a decent room

Pros: The building structure, decor, great jazz music in lobby, and friendly staff.
Cons: Quality of the rooms, and the hotel needs to ensure the rooms have been cleaned and are ready to go.
Location: Great location!
The first room I got had clearly been occupied and not cleaned. The second room was a freezer box with the temp set at 62 degrees and I was not able to change it. The staff at the front desk were very decent about it, but at 11 pm, I was exhausted. I get the impression that Expedia and other pre-paid customers get the short end of the stick when it comes to rooms. The building itself is beautiful, however, even though the rooms are small. And as just stated, the reception people were very good. Just be prepared to wait for your room.

Pros: Location and check in was great.
Hotel was great, good location. Very disappointed in the concierge, she sold us Explores Passes and they did not work at any place that the book she gave us with them said. We ended up spending way too much time walking from one place to another to be told that they do not take these passes. We paid $89 each for these and when I called concierge to complain she just blew us off. Wasted the money on these passes and only got them because she recommended them to us!

Excellent location close to everything!

Excellent location, charming hotel, hospitable service, wonderful lively lobby lounge with live jazz music. Starbucks on site! Only downside was the ice machine in the common hallway was right by our room which was fairly loud when used, but the hotel staff offered us a different room which was very nice.

Fun Hotel

Pros: Location was accessible to my business.
Cons: Staff needs to be a bit friendlier and more informed about the property.
Location: shopping is closeby, lots of restaurants
The room I had was very very small but it is Manhattan after all. I would stay at this hotel again -- it was a great location for my business there. The lobby was very busy and there was always something going on. The hotel staff didn't seem too informed. I got wrong info on the bar and restaurants on the property. The concierge was not too helpful or friendly but I got where I needed to go. All in all it was a good experience. I just had to ferret out the information myself instead of relying on the staff.

Schickes Stadthotel

Wir können das Hotel nur empfehlen. Die 5th Avenue und das Rockefeller Center sind fußläufig in wenig Minuten zu erreichen, ebenso die meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten. Die Zimmer sind zwar klein, aber selbst für eine Woche Aufenthalt völlig ausreichend. Auch bezüglich der Sauberkeit können wir nichts schlechtes berichten. Einzig das Frühstück im Hotel ist recht teuer, dafür aber sehr ausgiebig und lecker. Wir werden bei unserem nächsten Aufenthalt in New York wieder dieses Hotel wählen.
