Lovely hotel with amazing staff, bit noisy though

Posted Jan 28, 2015
Amazing staff were very helpful even before we arrived helping with reservations. Surprised us with prosecco on arrival due to engagement which was a lovely touch! Rooms are quite small but all relative in NYC and even on 7th floor you could really hear traffic below. They give you ear plugs for are reason. Wine and cheese reception is awesome and the charm of the hotel unrivalled.

Fabulous hotel great location

What can I say? It was amazing, nothing was too much for the staff, they were all so helpful, the reading room was always kept tidy, breakfast was delicious as was the pastries throughout the day and the location was perfect, only a 10-15 minute walk to Times Square, only about 15 walk to the Empire State Building. Would love to go back

très bon hôtel

Posted Jan 20, 2015
Pros: tout
Cons: aucun
Location: grand central, bryans park

Great hotel but you might need ear plugs

Posted Jan 10, 2015
Pros: Staff, location and extras wine and cheese every evening was fist rate.Bottle of wine on arrival as a nice gift made great impresstion with my wife.
Cons: Noise level but we where on main road junction.
Location: Great for subway Grand Central your nearest subway.Easy walking for big stores, some great diners close by.
Hotel is a gem. Staff could not be more helpful, located in prime spot for site seeing. The little extras where a delight. The only small issue was the noise level in are room.Wished we had booked the bigger room, but that is a after thought we only booked the petite room. Would be happy to recommend it for family and friends.Would return to same hotel but upgrade.

Return visit to this charming hotel near grand central station and library so very well situated. Rooms are typically New York small but perfectly equipped and the inclusive breakfast and wine and cheese each nite are a nice touch. Service of every staff member was fab and non intrusive they are full of useful information and a helping hand when needed

Superior experience

Posted Dec 20, 2014
This was our fifth visit to Manhattan and each time we have chosen a four- or five-star hotel in slightly differing location in the hope of finding a home-away-from-home to enhance our NYC experience. We hit the jackpot this time. Although it is a small hotel, we could not have asked for more. The theme of a library hotel with each room having a them based on there Dewey decimal classification is quirky but works, although I suspect that the rate of nightmares would be higher in the Math room. The books are in good condition and well chosen. The staff are attentive and professional and will go out of their way to meet your needs. The level 2 dining room hosts a breakfast that is simple but all that is required for a healthy start for the day. It is also the site for evening wine and cheese (fresh and reasonably good quality produce) and all-day coffee and pastry. The rooms can be small but are clean, efficient and beautifully designed. Those of you travelling with multiple large bags should consider booking the larger rooms, although a creative solution worked well for us (2 large, 4 small bags) after some trial and error. The location was SUPERB. You can choose to walk uptown and downtown, or hop on the train from Grand Central station which is a couple of blocks away. I would highly recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

Great hotel with very pleasant and professional

Great hotel with very pleasant and professional staff. The location is excellent within walking distance of many of the NYC sights. Also very sort distance to Central Station so easy to get to other parts. The Library is a simple and well thoughtout hotel. The continental breakfast is good enough to start the day. The bar and lounge in the roof top is a great way to finish the day.
