“Great place to stay..”
This is my second stay at the hotel. Boutique hotel in upper west side. Great restaurant next door that rocks with hip people. Hotel service is great. Very calming place too compared to hotels with unsophisticated travelers on bus tours. This caters to a great clientele. Rooms vary in size. One time in had a huge suite This time in had a bedroom with 2 double beds. Very comfortable Great water pressure in the shower too In total a great place to stay.
“Will definitely return”
We love staying on the UWS and found the Lucerne was a great hotel for us. The location was fantastic, of course; the room was large, sunny, updated, comfortable, quiet. All in all...hard to beat. We will return next time we're in New York!
“good location, very attractive accomodations”
my only complaint is that expedia did not relay my request for a quiet room. fortunately, I called 1 month in advance and registered my request, which was honored. the hotel is in a superb location for transportation to the theater district via subway or the east side (via cross town bus). Good restos nearby, + Zabars, Harry's Shoes, movie theater, small shops etc. I will return.
“Not impressed”
I found the hotel to be way below the quality that I had expected after looking at the pictures on the website. The cost was very high for three nights and I was supposed to be in a "suite". The "suite" was no bigger than a large bathroom and housed a well worn couch and well worn carpeting. Upon looking out every window of my "suite" I was confronteded with a view of a brick wall from another building next to the hotel. I had to look up into a corner to see if the sun was shining. The bathroom was very small and when I was drying my hair and my daughter was using another outlet to dry her hair - in a different room - at the same time we lost electricity. It is unfortunate that they rate themselves so highly. If you want to get downtown you need to take a subway, which was convenient or a cab which is expensive. The concierge didn't know the neighborhood at all and referred us to a diner that didn't exist where he said it did. Staff didn't seem to have knowledge of the area or good places to eat, etc. etc.
“great neighborhood - location , location, location”
wonderful location - fabulous restaurants - near subway, and bus lines
“Sisters' Weekend”
We had a 2 bed suite - a wonderful stay at the Lucerne, the staff couldn't have been any more accomodating and freindly from the front desk, bellmen and housekeeping staff.Would absolutely recommend to anyone staying in NYC - only 1block from subway and very easy to drive to. Thank You to all of the staff.
“Expensive but clean and nice staff”
We liked this hotel but the room was small and the bed was soft. It was very expensive, even for NY but have a bit of a market advantage being on the upper west side. We will stay again but try to get a better rate or will look elsewhere.
“Perfect location for our trip”
Location was great for the trip. Neighborhood had everything we needed.
“Very cozy”
Room was nice and door men were extremely pleasant
“Wonderful hotel”
Very comfortable, beautiful and clean rooms, friendly staff, great restaurant , great location to Central Park, subway, walking, restaurants, museums etc.
