Nice and quietPosted Sep 28, 2014
Pros: Quiet sleep environment
Cons: Bigger fitness facility. But is actually not bad considering.
Location: Central park is a couple blocks away. Times square is just down the road.
Hotel is clean and quiet. Sleep quality is well above average for a big city experience. Fast elevators were a surprise. Nice location next to central park. Short walk from times square.

Great experience on our anniversaryPosted Sep 26, 2014
Pros: Everything. The staff was very polite and took very good care of us
Cons: Can't think of anything.
Location: Central park, museum of natural history and Columbus circle - certainly plenty to stay busy.
Loved staying on the upper west side close to central park. We chose the Lucerne because of it's unique interior style and exceptional attention to detail. The room was perfect with high end furnishings, great amenities and a large bathroom that was clean and up to date.

Nice hotel.Posted Sep 25, 2014
Nice hotel, best part was Concierge Ron. Extremely helpful. My room bathroom smaller than my home half-bath. Food good, not great. I would go again. Not handicap friendly. No ramp at entrance. Elevators to small, narrow door.

Nice hotel with cafe/restaurant attached.Posted Sep 24, 2014
The service is very good with all staff polite and helpful. The bedroom walls are a bit thin, so you can hear the sound of your neighbours watching TV and talking, but other than that it was a nice hotel. The attached cafe/restaurant, Nice Matin, was great for breakfast. We didn't try it for dinner as there were so many other places to eat nearby. Amsterdam Avenue has more great eateries than Broadway in that area so you certainly won't starve. Stretch your legs and enjoy the variety.

Pros: Very pleasant staff and the location
This is a good hotel in an ideal location. All of the main attractions of New York are within easy walking distance or the subway is one block away.

Comfortable hotel in an excellent locationPosted Sep 18, 2014
Comfortable bed, lovely room in a fantastic location 2 blocks from Central Park. Really quiet too. Don't expect a view though, quite a few of the rooms face in on one another. Great cafés & restaurants around. Staff were first class apart from waking us at 8.30 wanting to clean the room. As we were sadly only there for one night that was annoying as they obviously had not been given the room list of who was leaving. Shame there wasn't a kettle in the room. However generally a fabulous stay& wish we'd been able to stay longer. Will definitely return.

Upper West Side is perfect for many reasons!Posted Sep 6, 2014
Pros: Everything....classy, clean, comfy, location, etc.
My husband's birthday celebration each year consists of a few days in the city, a Yankees game, restaurants galore, and lots of walking. This year we chose to stay in the upper west side, at The Lucerne. From the moment we drove up in the taxi, the building is beautiful, the doorman is right by your side, the entrance and inside the lobby is charming and comfortable, the front desk staff so helpful and friendly. When entering the room, it was also charming with its furnishings, antique-ish yet modern, roomy, comfortable queen bed. The bathroom was clean, with new tiling. I mentioned at the front desk that we were there to celebrate my husband's birthday. When the bellman brought our luggage up, he handed me a bottle of wine and said compliments of the hotel and wished him a great birthday. I like that! We had lots of help from the concierge, suggestions, and overall extremely friendly. I would recommend this very classy hotel, reasonably priced for the area, very close to Central Park. And I would definitely go back!

Great stay on upper west side.Posted Sep 5, 2014
The hotel really feels like a classic NY hotel. It has a lot of character with a great staff. We're coming back to NY in December and we will definitely be retuning to the Lucerne.

Nice hotel close to subwayPosted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: Near subway and Central Park.
Cons: Mattress was old and uncomfortable.
We stayed at The Lucerne in late August and thought it was quite a good choice. We wanted to be near Central Park and this hotel is close. A subway stop is nearby, which was important for us as we ended up spending most of our time in Soho and Greenwich village and not near the hotel at all. The hotel was clean and the room more spacious than we expected, but the bed was not very comfortable and this significantly affected our sleep. Before staying there again I would want the hotel to purchase new mattresses.
