Nice quiet hotel in a good location.Posted Jun 29, 2015
Pros: Location. Quiet.
Cons: Room size was really small. Could not open suitcase except ion the bed. But we did get 2 double beds, which we couldn't find most places.
Location: Museum of Natural History in walkiing distance, and several good restaurants. Easy cab to Broadway shows.
Although Expedia listing self-parking as $36 per night, the garage charged us $45 per night and would not listen to any discussion that a different rate had been quoted.

Nice, quiet hotel, away from Times Square crowdsPosted Jun 27, 2015
Pros: Location Staff
We recently stayed at the Lucerne in the UWS and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, laid-back alternative to the busy-ness of Times Square. There are lots of excellent, casual restaurants within a couple blocks, the Metro is just a block away, and there is a bus stop right next to the hotel. You can walk to Central Park. The hotel staff was courteous and responsive to our needs. All things considered, it was a perfect place for our week-long stay in NYC!

Splendid upper West Side HotelPosted Jun 25, 2015
Pros: Excellent value: I've spent a lot more at glitzy New York hotels with horrid service and poor rooms. Great bar and restaurant adjacent to the lobby
Cons: Car valet service is slow--and expensive--but this is not the hotel's fault. Many local parking garages have closed. Try the self-park lot on 79th.
Location: Central Park, superb museums, excellent restaurants all within walking distance. Crosstown bus to Eastside as well as quick subway service to Midtown.
As a native New Yorker who now lives in Seattle, this was precisely what I wanted-- and expected: a quiet, well-appointed, upper West Side hotel just a tad north of the midtown madness, but only ten minutes away from Times Square on the 7th Avenue subway, which can easily be reached from the hotel. Walking distance to museums, excellent restaurants, and lovely Central Park. Manhattan at its best.

コロンビア大に通うには便利Posted Jun 25, 2015

What a great weekendPosted Jun 23, 2015
Pros: Everything was just so nice.
Cons: Wouldn't change a thing, old charm and nice furnishings.
Dropped off car right in front of the door, they stored our bikes and took the car and we were in the room changing to walking clothes in 5 minutes. 1 street over to the 1,2 and 3, subway trains to downtown, get to downtown in 18 minutes. Trip back uptown just as easy. 2 streets east to Central Park, rode our bikes there and around it and back, easily because of bike lanes and open streets, park is closed to cars on weekends. Sunday morning walked up farmers market on northbound Columbus and had great breakfast on Broadway southbound. Best part of city. Awesome staff and great stay. Called valet and were loaded and gone in 10 minutes. Easy back on freeway in 10 minutes. Great place!

Awesome New York GetawayPosted Jun 22, 2015
Pros: Location location location, great bed, clean room and friendly staff! also there is Coppola Italian restaurant across the street which is an awesome!
Location: Central Park, all the museums are in walking distance, and lots of great restaurants and coffee shops!
We wanted to be closer to Central Park on this trip rather than be near Time Square and The Lucerne was the perfect hotel! It was close to the subway and Central Park so we were able to get to all the places we wanted to go. The hotel is super cute and clean, beds are comfortable and staff was wonderful! One thing to note is that some subway stations like Museum of Natural History station had minimum lines running on the weekend so it is best to get subway map from subway attendant to plot out your subway route if you are using the subway! Also, rooms are smaller but all the other perks made up for it ;)

Pros: The water pressure and rooms. Front door men always helpful.
Cons: Staff training for noise while cleaning rooms. No excuses when all the papers are missing one one floor ("people take them sometimes")
Location: Good location to walk to Central Park, some restaurants. Good subway location. Away from the tourists in mid-town.
Good sized, quiet rooms at the back of the hotel. Appreciated the excellent cleaning staff, except their noisy walkie-talkie devices during our stay. Generally helpful front desk. One day papers not delivered on our floor, the female receptionist just made excuses. Concierges were always booked with others, so make an appointment. Great hot water and location to subway stations. Good restaurant located in building.
