Older hotel that could use some updating. Comfortable room and for one night I wasn't going to pay big bucks for a clean bed and towels. Waiting for an elevator on our floor to go to the lobby was a 15 min ordeal, but that was the only thing that I could comment on.

A place to sleep.

Pros: Location.
Cons: See above comments.
Location: Good.
Room 1028: Shower curtain is mounted on a bow rod, it is not mounted properly one screw on each side is missing which causes the rod to sag and both ends of the curtain slip toward the center which causes water to go on the floor on both ends. Need good chairs to watch TV. Internet service should be free. Most people only spend a few minutes in the room plus sleeping time. Internet service is not worth 15 dollars a day if you would only use it 10 or so minutes a day. The staff were exceptional and very helpful. The location of the hotel is very good.

Location, staff and cleanliness of room are perfect. But room is too "simple" and missing some amenities commensurate with 4 start hotel. (there is no bar in the room for example). Also, there is no restaurant in the hotel and breakfast is very plain.

Fantastic and friendly staff. Great location. Rooms are a bit outdated but very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again. Lots of great restaurants and shops close by.

Surprisingly quiet considering location. Small fridge in room would have been nice. Staff friendly.

Basics were great- workout room, linens, tv, shower and bath. They want to charge for everything else: wifi, breakfast, parking

Bait and Switch Hotel

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: The lobby.
Cons: Potential guests should be told that the hotel is in the process of renovating rooms and at present, only has five renovated rooms.
I chose this hotel based on the online room photos as my usual hotel was booked. Upon entering the lobby, the hotel appeared modern and elegant. The moment I stepped off the elevator I new that I'd made a error - the hallway carpet was visibly stained and smelled bad. The room that I was assigned to looked nothing like the online photos; the room was nasty, shabby, smelled bad and had visible dirt and stains all over. The bathroom was disgusting with a missing faucet, a mold-like substance, cracked tiles and the furniture was clearly in bad shape. I immediately requested a new room and expressed concern about the difference between the online photos and the actual room that I had. I was told that the hotel was in the process of updating their rooms and only had (5) rooms that were actually updated. I was told that I would be moved to one of those newer rooms. I was not. I was moved to yet another even more dilapidated room. I then requested to speak with a manager who personally came up to my room so that I could show him how disgusting the room was; he then moved me to a refurbished room that more closely resembled the online photos -- and while the newer room was updated, the bathroom faucet did not work. I told the manager that it was unfair to advertise photos of rooms that they don't actually have! I was stunned at the condition of the hotel beyond the lobby. I would never stay at this hotel again nor recommend it to others.

an old hotel but convenient .

Pros: The location and staff are great.changing color of the lobby wall to a brighter color will be inviting.
Cons: towels are too old discolored, looks a mop.
Location: location is great in time square ,shopping .
located in the heart of NY makes it easy to go around, rooms are tiny but I can understand the reason.it was a crowded week end with a lot of visitors in the hotel using the elevators was a long wait and reception counters were busey.
