Hotel with great location

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: Location was great. Hotel was clean but decor was a bit outdated. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Despite working very hard, bell-boy staff were always very busy. Maybe having more staff on during check-out time would assist.
Location: Amazing location. Within walking distance to major attractions and main subway stops.
Hotel staff were very friendly. Rooms were spacious and roomy (two double beds). Decor was a bit outdated but rooms were clean and air conditioned. The hotel location in Times Square was very convent. Despite working diligently, the bell-boy staff were very busy and there were often line ups. All in all, I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Frequent NYC visitor

Posted Jul 25, 2014
First impression wasn't the best. My girlfriend got out of car first and went to front desk to "initiate" check-in while I parked car around the corner (53$/night), she was met by less than helpful female staff. When I arrived, her attitude changed completely. Our Hotel room 17th floor was old and very humid. Water damage on walls and damp carpet near a/C unit. Old noisy A/C unit. Misty smell in room. Wifi 15$/day. Only good point is proximity to Times Square. For a few extra bucks go to Edison Hotel, newly renovated there! This hotel needs a major renovation job.

Had to book a hotel even though the event we were attending gave us discounts at other hotels, this hotel was the cheaper of choice. Went to hotel and lobby is gloomy colored, environment, people waiting for their rooms in a crowded uncomfortable setting. 3 out of 4 elevators were working for hotel which made every trip uncomfortably crowded every morning. There was one day where our room was not cleaned or made up, we had to call at 4pm for womeone to come change the used towels and clean the room. The TV was always static view. Uncomfortable A/C even though we put it to the lowest possible setting the room was always at 73 degrees with a humid feeling. The hallways smelled of molding and we were next to the cleaning maids station where it was constant in and out traffic and noise. Not staying in this hotel in the future. I rather pay the extra money for another hotel.

Great value and location.

If you are not picky, this is the place for you. Right in the middle of everywhere a tourist wants to be. Rates are good. Rooms could be updated and cleaner.

Not enough for the $$

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Not bad if you're not going to spend much time in it. I didn't like all the additional charge items like WiFi and mini fridge, things that should be available with reservations. Looked very old/needed updating. Location in Times Square means possible noise disturbances late at night. Staff was pleasant when talked to, but I always had trouble contacting the desk over the phone. They answered about a third of the time.

Good location for a Times Square

Posted Jul 18, 2014
We picked this hotel based mainly on the cost. The common areas were disappointing and the hallway, carpet and walls on our floor were horrible. Our room however although tired was clean and the bed was very comfortable. There wasn't a bar although they apparently had one, just no liquor or barman! The staff I spoke to were very curtious and friendly and the location was ideal for a Times Square.

Nice Hotel close to Time Square

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: Loved the location. Close to a lot of entertainment and not too loud.
Cons: Bathrooms could be updated.
Location: Close to Time Square, and theatres. Loads of very good restaurants both expensive and not so bad to the wallet! Must go Iguanas great Margaritas!
Staff was very pleasant and helpful where they could help. Very slow elevators but were under renovations. Lobby did not have restaurant/bar only had small coffee shop that closed early each day. Bathroom was very tired - tub wobbled while standing in for shower. Taps leaked. Towels were clean and always available. Cleaning staff very friendly and helpful. Stay was in July 2014 where working air conditioners are a MUST and we were happy ours worked however some rooms didn't but the hotel managed to provide another room to those not so fortunate as us.
