Modern, comfortable hotel

This hotel is in a convenient location for me and is very nice and comfortable. I like the young, friendly staff and the cool music piped into the lobby! It's within walking distance of many good restaurants, delis, and markets.

The room was small but cozy enough. It was fun and it was close to a lot of stores. I loved it.

Nice Hotel in a great location

Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Location: Great location, near lots of food places and bars. Close to a subway stop but not in the hustle bustle of time square
Staff was wonderful, room was perfect and the hotel was perfect. It wasn't in the crazyness of time square or central park but was close enough, about a 30-40 minute walk to time square and right by a subway stop.

Comfortable hotel a little out of the way.

Posted Aug 5, 2014
I would rather have been in a hotel closer to the subway. Its a 3 or 4 block walk to the nearest station at 23rd & Park Ave. Staff were always friendly and able to give good directions ,and advice. Although I found the room very small for two twin beds, it was always clean and tidy.I understand that for what we got the price was right for New York.

Excellent Stay

Posted Jul 12, 2014
Pros: I loved the comfort of the beds and its location.
I hope to return to New York City and will stay in the same hotel. It is very clean and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. I like the decor and the beds are very comfortable. I like the Gramercy Park location and that it is in walking distance to so much.

Convenient location for a reasonable price

Posted Jul 10, 2014
Pros: We liked the Marcel's modern style, found the staff very helpful and the room very clean. Their welcome glass of wine, extra hangers were appreciated
Cons: Could not adjust the air conditioner or open the window; the bathroom fan did not work. Fridge not for personal items, no kettle or wireless in room
Location: Close to Union and Madison Square, taxied to Central Park, Guggenheim etc. and walked as well. Took the subway and walked from there too.
We chose the Marcel upon the recommendation of family and convenient to Union Square where we were visiting. it is not close to the subway, one will have to walk a few blocks but we found walking was good and caught taxi's when tired. We stayed seven nights. Overall we enjoyed the Marcel and would definitely stay there again.

convenient location, comfortable room

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Room was small--nearly wall-to-wall bed--but comfortable and spotless. Air conditioning was responsive to the settings I entered.
Location: Empire State Building is close enough to walk, as is Beth Israel Medical Center and Hospice.
We needed a hotel close to Beth Israel Medical Center and one that was affordable. This hotel on 24th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues was ideal on both counts.
