Nice peoplePosted May 25, 2015
The room was very clean. The staff was nice and friendly. The door man was excellent. The size of the room was very small. Hotel 6 has bigger rooms. The lounge is good. Nice view of the Empire State Building. First time to New York.

Small, Immaculate, Well-Priced Gem of a HotelPosted May 19, 2015
Pros: Location, cleanliness, friendliness of staff
Cons: Would rather have a coffee/tea maker in the room rather than having to travel to the tenth floor in the morning.
Location: Located in the Gramercy Park area, close to most subway lines, overlooking the Empire State Building. Very close to midtown.
Wonderful over the phone directions from staff, my gps died before the Lincoln Tunnel! Was given a parking discount voucher for garage next door. Very clean room stocked with Bigelow toiletries. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Great night sleep.

Finally I found "my" NYC Hotel!Posted May 19, 2015
Pros: Wonderful sheets, nice bathroom amenities, Wi-Fi in my room, coffee/tea in the lounge, spectacular staff
Cons: It's about time to upgrade/replace the bath towels.
Location: Easy walk to Union Square. Stroll down to Second Ave & 21st St to Pushcart for the best latte & almond croissant
I've tried many NYC hotels, looking for my "go to" spot. Sure, there are lots of lovely hotels but most have nose-bleed prices. Happily, Expedia directed me to this gem in Gramercy Park right where I want to stay. The staff was amazing in every way, opening doors, greeting me when I came & went, helping with my luggage, answering questions and giving directions, so very friendly. Just remember: NYC never sleeps and the sweet ear plugs The Marcel provides barely touch the roar. Ergo, the next time I'll ask for a room high above the city (ok, it's not a very tall building ;-), away from Third Avenue. But, YES, there will be a next time!

Nice hotel, but very small "European Style" roomsPosted May 18, 2015
Pros: the staff and the neighborhood
Cons: the problems with the key cards
Location: Great restaurants with shops within an easy walk
The Marcel is a very nice hotel. There are some quirks. I changed rooms three times. The staff was very accommodating with this. The first room was freezing cold and extremely small. I could not get the air to turn off. The second room already had someone in it. The third room was acceptable and worked out fine. I had trouble constantly with the key card. It was re-programmed many times. With all of this - the staff was wonderful - from the front desk to the variety of handy men who tried to help to the guys who handled the luggage - all were great! The neighborhood was very nice with many excellent restaurants of all types. It was also very safe for a single woman. I would stay here again.

Hôtel accueillant, bien situéePosted May 17, 2015

Small and neat hotel in midtown ManhattanPosted May 12, 2015
Pros: The AC is suprisingly quiet. Street noise comes through the AC, but does not bother. The staff stays out of the way and is not pushy.
Cons: There is no complementary Wi-Fi in the rooms. TV picture is extremely noisy with static. Really small rooms.
Check-in was quick and went smoothly. No queues or waiting ever. The front desk is in a far corner, so going back and forth from outside to elevator requires no interaction with the staff (for both good and bad). Room was really small, and queen-sized bed was even smaller for 2 persons.

Fancy boutique hotel with great location and staffPosted May 4, 2015
Pros: Location, free wifi, terrace with view of the city and staff.
Cons: Terrace to be open past 10pm.
We booked this hotel online for a standard room and when we arrived the room was TINY so we spoke to the staff and they were so very helpful, they provided us with an upgrade for a very small price and our new rooms had views of the Empire State building. The key person we dealt with at reception was Arvin and he truly is an asset to this hotel he did he utmost best to ensure we had a pleasant stay. This hotel is very modern, clean and new and within close proximity to the subway and restaurants. The area is a more affluent area and we felt very safe travelling on the subway at night then heading back to our rooms. There is no ice machine or kettles in the rooms but the staff are very attentive and will bring you what you require.

Tutto perfetto camera un po' rumorosa.Posted May 2, 2015
Hotel arredato con gusto, personale eccellente, unica pecca la seguente; nella camera che ci è stata assegnata si sentiva il forte rumore continuo delle unità esterne delle pompe di calore.

The Marcel hotel er et kjempeflott hotelPosted Apr 30, 2015
Cons: Gratis frokost.
