Brilliant hotelPosted Dec 5, 2013
I couldn't recommend this place enough, From the moment we walked in the door till they hailed a cab to the airport for us when we left were nothing but friendly and helpful. The lobby area was decorated for christmas and looked very nice. We stayed in one of the 1 bed apartments and it was everything we needed spacious and clean.. nice little kitchen to make breakfast and such like the whole apartment was kept very clean and decorated nicely, there was a little construction work going on at ground level while we were there but wasn't too noisey as we were on the 19th floor. The staff were very helpful in any of our queries as we were new to ny from places to eat to directions and attractions to see if im ever in NY again i will definitely be looking to book in to the marmara again ty for a wonderful stay ;)

Comfortable apartment in Upper East SidePosted Nov 10, 2013
Pros: Covered above
Cons: I would change the room carpets which would be more in keeping with the general style
Location: Covered above
I was very impressed by the helpfulness of the staff when we arrived in the middle of the night. I had requested a sofa bed, so we could each have a separate room and it was already made up. The apartment was clean and every day someone did our dishes in the dishwasher. There were decent toiletries replaced every day and the sheets were changed after 3 days. The towels were large and there were plenty of them. The room was a standard suite, one up from the basic studio but did not cost a great deal more. There were 2 huge TVs and a DVD available as well as a hairdryer and iron. We were able to get breakfast at the Barking Dog on 3rd Avenue each morning and it was very reasonably priced. It is ideal if you do not wish to be confined to a small hotel room and would like occasional self catering and I would stay there again. It is quite a way from Time Square but that was an adantage to us. It is close to teh Guggenheim and Central Park

Convenient for Times squarePosted Nov 10, 2013
Lovely hotel in upper east side which is quieter than down town area, but still within easy reach. Great view from our 25th floor room with balcony. Friendly helpful staff. Will visit again

DisappointedPosted Nov 1, 2013
The apartment and the hotel in general are very different to what appears on the web. Apartment was spacious but not very attractive. It was also vey noisy as there is massive construction on 2nd Ave.

Nice hotel but farPosted Oct 21, 2013
Pros: the staff is just amazing, very helpful and smiling. My room was big enough for the 3 of us with a balcony.
Cons: the bathrooms are a little bit outdated...
Location: The location is not very interesting, we had to walk for more than one hour to reach the area where the fun is at.

Spacious hotel in residential locationPosted Oct 21, 2013
Good size room/studio. A little dated. Close to busy road so traffic noise was an issue. Bed a little "soft". Fair distance from Times Square but subway ~10 min walk. Good for families. Probably won't stay here if I come back, picked this hotel because it was close to where I needed to go.

Great room for a family wanting a bit more spacePosted Oct 17, 2013
Pros: Location, room size and great staff
Cons: Updating furniture and kitchen appliances
Travelling with an 8 month old baby our main objective was to find somewhere a bit larger than a shoebox to stay in NYC! The Marmara delivered! A large room by NYC standards including a balcony. We had a pleasant stay on the Upper East Side - close to all the amenities we needed including numerous markets and pharmacies (very important with a little one!) Staff was hospitable and the room was very clean. Only issues we had were that the room was getting a bit on in years and could do with an update. The kitchenette also needed to be better stocked with pots and pans (preferably non stick ones so that you don't set the fire alarm off like we did!).

Excellent honey moonPosted Sep 16, 2013
Pros: Kitchen and location
Cons: Nothing is OK for what we need
Location: EXCELLENT, close to subway station and Central Park
The hotel is great. We stay for a whole week in Manhattan. We are close to Subway station and Grocery Store, bars and close to Central Park. You can relax, cook and be close enough to the main places in NYC. THANKS

What can I say but... unbelieveable!Posted Sep 15, 2013
Pros: Almost everything, but the air con and the bathroom cleanliness were the most vital elements.
Cons: Couldn't find the controls for the air con for a while, was hidden under the fan cover. WIFI had a tendency to cut out. Some hairs on bathroom door.
Location: Near Central Park, good transport links to Bronx, lower Manhattan and crosstown. Plenty of restaurants, takeaways and grocery stores nearby.
Stayed here 8 - 14 Sept 2013. Solo vacation. Friendly doormen and reception staff. Refunded money to my card when a smaller room was offered as was not available when I booked through Expedia. Explained alternate parking rules which saved me possible ticket. Lifts: Faced a long wait at times... only 2 which service 30+ floors. Speedy travel between floors. Excellent interior, clean mirrors. Soft music. Room: Modern-contemporary look with modern equipment. Excellent air con with different settings. Awesome bed, clean linen and spare pillows and . Great kitchenette with cookware and utensils. Huge TV with range of channels, some in Spanish. Excellent bathroom with no mould signs, low tub but good shower head. Room safe (NOT laptop compatible). Plenty of storage. Location: Near Central Park. 6 train at 96th Ave/Lexington Ave 24-hour service into lower Manhattan and the Bronx. Bus M15, M101/102 nearby to lower Manhattan, bus M96 nearby crosstown inc. Central Park.

Great hotel for familyPosted Sep 6, 2013
My husband and I stayed with our one year old. The apartment was roomy and clean. The Mamara provided a crib which was great. Staff were brilliant. While the location was close to the park the area wasnt brilliant. Lots of construction and not many nice restaurants.
