“Italian Sophistication”

Michelangelo is at the top of my list for being one of the best hotels I've stayed in - everything prior reviewers indicated as being good to excellent. The location is perfectly situated for shopping, theaters, restaurants and clubs. It's a great place for couples, business travelers, and anyone who prefers a quieter and "sophisticated" atmosphere. Even though the hotel doesn't have a full restaurant, the bar/lounge has a limited menu of very delicious food. The entire staff gives excellent service and all are very friendly. James, the Head Concierge is knowledgeable, courteous and goes the extra mile to help. I will certainly be staying there again when I visit NY in the future.

“Make nice nicer!”

We had been staying at another hotel nearby (the Warwick), but were disappointed an our last stay - the room was small, and looked onto an air shaft! Unacceptable. The Michalangelo's lobby coffee shop is very pleasant, but it would be good to get the restaurant open. The Tuscan Room in the basement (for coffee and pastry) is not a pleasant space. It doesn't fit with the character of the hotel.

The Michelangelo is a suberb, well located hotel with friendly, helpful staff. An excellent experience.

With the large chain hotels, you could be anywhere in the world, the hotels look and feel the same. The Michelangelo has individuality and charm all of its own.

Our room was ready when we checked in early. It was very comfortable and accomodating. Will definately stay there again.

“Nyc stay”

The hotel is very beautiful inside, I had never heard of this hotel so was not expecting much. But I was pleasantly surprised! Hotel staff friendly, clean and quaint. When we checked in our room it smelled terribly like smoke, previous guests must have secretly smoked. We complained to the bellman and asked for this to be dealt with quickly. To our surprise, the floor manager was at our room within 5 min and dealt with the issue right away!! We left the hotel to walk the city and when we got back to our room there was no more smoke smell! Very nice to have situations taken care of, instead of waiting and waiting or having to call a million times to guest services to get some attention from the hotel staff! I've been to NYC over 25 times and have stayed in over 15 different hotels, just because I usually go for good deals. However I think I have found one of my new favorite hotels in NYC! Not to mention the locations is perfect!

“Great from beginning to end!”

From the time we checked in to the time we checked out, everything was fantastic. The staff was friendly, the room was spacious and very clean and the location in unreal. Defiitely reccomend this hotel to other couples, it is not a really family friendly hotel.

“Why go anywhere else?”

This hotel doesn't have a doorman...it has CARLOS! This hotel doesn't have Bellmen...it has HENRY and NEY. This hotel doesn't have a Front Desk person...it has WALTER. This hotel doesn't have a concierge...it has JAMES. The only place in NYC we will stay...they're family!

“our favorite”

it is close yet so far away from all the crowds and noise of times square. it is lodged quietly between times square , theaters, central park, rock. center, st. patricks' cathedral, etc. it is elegant and quiet at the same time. we seem to always come back to this hotel as it can always be relied upon to be far above standard.
