“Terrific find!”

The Moderne staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Their complimentary wine and cheese was just right at the end of a busy day. The room and hotel were sparkling clean. I would go back in a flash!

“Awesome location, very nice staff.”

The hotel was actually large compared to some of the others that I saw when researching. the bed was great, very comfortable. the bathroom was small but i was expecting that. Shower was great. only complaint would be that the shower looked a little dingy like it needed a good scrubbing but not really "dirty". The fridge didn't work so i reported it the first evening and then checked it the next evening when we returned to the hotel but it was still not working. I spoke with Teddy at the desk and told him it was still not fixed and that i had to drink a hot coke which was gross! :o) He not only got it fixed but when i got back they had left an ice cold coke in the fridge for me. Nice touch! they were very friendly and helpful. the hotel is small , only 35 rooms so it felt more homey and personal. I loved the Andy Warhol type decor. The location couldn't be better. you can get or see anything you need or want within a 3 or 4 block walk. Highly recommend this place.

Area recommendations
Enjoyed all nearby areas except Canal Street, Little Italy and Chinatown. they were crowded , nasty and smelly. You were constantly accosted by people trying to sell you purses, watches, jewelry, which all had to be seen in another place!!!! no way. we got out of there quick. Mid Town West Side was all great!!!! Only problem we really had was going the right way on the subway. Very confusing!!!!

“THE BEST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED AT IN MANHATTAN, NYC!!”

I cannot even begin to tell you how WONDERFUL my stay was at this hotel. The first and most important part of our stay was the staff, Victoria who was at the front desk greeted us with a smile and with an interest in how are vacation was going every time we walked in the door, it was so nice to have someone who genuinely cares about their guests unlike the big hotels who only want your money. Then CJ who was our bell man/ door man was just a lot of fun and very personable. Ted at the front desk was a pleasure and suggested some great places to eat nearby. The hotel was CLEAN and MODERN and the rooms were just PERFECT in size and comfort. Fresh lines everyday on the bed, nice comfotable bath robes and bath towels, classy modern shower with high-end modern fixtures which I would love to see in my own home. The bed was comfortable and BIG; the television was a nice touch which gave us the local news and weather which is all you need really. The location was PERFECT as it was within blocks to Times Square, Madison Ave, 5th Ave and the subway station was a block away and would take you anywhere in the city, uptown or downtown. In a word this please is PERFECT and I am looking forward to going back to visit the people in the great city. I am going to write the company a letter to tell them what a great staff they have and how they made this vacation to NYC unforgettable.

Area recommendations
Central Park West and Manhattan are the best places to be with some of the best places to dine and drink at.
Getting around
If you are there for 7 days or more you must do the 30.00 unlimited Metro pass which allows you to ride the subway anywhere or take the buses on the surface streets. Much cheaper and faster than cabs for sure.
Must see
The 9-11 memorial was just beautiful. Statue of liberty was one of the greatest iconic things that makes New York what it is. Rockafeller Center tour was great, Empire State Building was incredable at night. China Town and little italy have the best REAL food. Plus there are hundreds of deli's to get great food at it's just way to much to take in in one trip.
Shopping
I love SoHo with all the top end shops and chic restarants and small cafe's. Uptown has some of best shopping on 5th ave, Madison Ave.
Dining
There are so many places to eat in NYC but some that I would love to go back to are CRAFT, and Lilly's Irish Pub around City Hall had some of the best food.

“Great Location, will recommend to friends”

I was in NY for business and was pleasantly surprised by the staff and the hotel overall. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful especially Victoria at the front desk. My only complaint about the hotel was that I booked the hotel room with a King bed (one of the reasons I chose this hotel was the availability of a king bed) and when I arrived they only had a double double room available. I was told that the reservation from Expedia came through as a double. This aside, I would definitely go back to this hotel. The location is great, it is very clean and the staff was fabulous.

“Great hospitality and service”

As in the name, the hotel interior and the rooms are designed to be vivid. It may be loud if you stay in a room which doesn't have a window, but the hotel service was great and the stay was comfortable. One of the best things about the hotel may be the lounge. Coffee, tea and wine are provided with some foods. People staying the hotel interact in the lounge and the atmosphere was close to the one in the hostels.

“Art in the Heart of the Big Apple”

The location was perfect; we were in the middle of everything. The decorations were tasteful and fun. The staff couldn't be more helpful of cordial. The price made it the best purchase of our stay.

Area recommendations
The West Village has great restaurants. The East Village has flunky little shops. You can always find your own space in New York, but for privacy, nothing beats a walk around the huge lake in Central Park.
Must see
The High Line is a renovated el track that runs from 12th Street to 30th Street around 10th Avenue. The lush greenery and tasteful furnishings make this one of New York's best parks...in the sky!

“pleasant surprise”

I was very happy with overall experience. I found great little restaurants nearby to eat as I was traveling by myself. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I did not travel with my computer but was able to use the computer at a sister hotel on the next block

“Great Location!”

The location of this hotel is convenient and the staff is very friendly. They held our bags before and after check in. Beds are extremely comfortable and shower is nice. Thought they could have done a little better stocking the bathroom with towels, toilet paper, kleenex, after they cleaned the room, but really that was it. I would recommend this hotel.
