Nice hotel in New York

Posted Sep 13, 2014
It was a good location, quiet, but still close to both Central Park and Times Square. It was a nice size on the bed and the room was cleaned every day! Nice staff at the hotel- really friendly and helped with tips etc.

good location, for good value

Posted Sep 8, 2014
room was clean, bed was super comfortable, amenities fine. Room was adequately sized for NYC hotels. Loved the attention to "modern" details. I am an architect and appreciated those things. The only downside was my only small window faced a brick wall. It was very claustrophobic. I was in and out, mostly just slept there, but if I was to stay in the room for awhile, it felt confined. I am sure there are a few other rooms (probably only 8, as the building is 8 stories tall) that have a street view, but, it was fine for me as I wasn't in the room for long periods of time.

Less than expected...

Pros: Location, Location, Location!!! Four blocks from Central Park and four blocks from Times Square.
Cons: Water drainage in bathroom and chairs for the balcony.
Location: Close to everything! Great location
Overall the stay was good. Robbie the concierge was amazing and very helpful. The stay was worth it just because of his helpfulness and recommendations. The bathroom was a total disaster! Water from the open shower flooded the whole room and you couldn't get to the toilet without walking through a half inch of water!!! Instead of draining out where it was suppose to and instead puddled up around the toilet. The mist covered the entire floor and you couldn't go anywhere in the room without getting your feet or socks soaking wet!!! After taking a shower, you either had to mop up the floor with all your towels, leaving you with none, or wear rubber boots to get to the sink or toilet. If you woke up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom you would have to do one of the things mentioned above. If we had been staying more than the one night we would have changed rooms for sure. The management did offer a new room to us but we had already unpacked and mopped the floor up with our towels. They brought us fresh towels. The $350 we paid for the one night was worth it ONLY because of the location NOT for the quality of the room!!! We would stay there again mainly due to Robbie's helpfulness and knowledge of the attractions in the vicinity. However, we would certainly have to check out the room before unpacking next time.

Good hotel and location, but very small rooms

Posted Aug 23, 2014
Cons: Small fridge filled with drinks 3x overpriced compared with the street. That was bad.
Location: It's in the Manhattan downtown, near Central Park.
Very clean hotel. Nice stay, but for 1 person. Maybe for 2, but no kids.

Friendly & Trendy

The hotel staff were very friendly. We had a plan prior to arriving in NYC but for those who are not sure where to start I recommend using this hotel's consierge. He was very accommodating and willing make arrangements for events around the city. The hotel is located four blocks away from Central Park and four blocks away from Times Square. There are a number of great restaurants and lounges on the adjacent avenue (8th). Our room was very nice with a large king sized bed and the bathroom was sleek with a waterfall shower head. There is also a common lounge area on the second floor that had complimentary coffee/tea/water for guests. Only a few cons were that the A/C was a bit weak and we only had a view of a brick wall from our room but we spent most of the trip outside so overall it was a great hotel!
