awesome hotel with a lot of history great location

Posted Mar 25, 2015
Pros: clean, friendly, great location, historic, great view although cathedral was under construction
Cons: less construction in the city so not much expedia or new york palace could help
Location: rockefellar center, times square, fifth ave shopping, park ave upper east side shopping, central park,
we had a great time walking distance to anywhere or close enough for cheap cab ride or to catch double decker tour bus, lots of things to do crammed a lot in 2 days would recommend 3-4 days in the future

Great Hotel, Great Location

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: Location, cleanliness and staff.
Cons: The cost of in room dinning, to many hidden costs.
Location: Excellent, we walked to Broadway and all of the restaurants.
Great hotel, great location and excellent staff. However beware of parking costs, $170 form Friday to Sunday. And breakfast in your room $126 for two.

Great Hotel in the center of NYC

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: cleanliness and room size
Cons: all was OK
Location: great
Great staff, very friendly, decent size rooms with a possibility to have a room with a view on St. Patricks Cathedral. The service, cleanliness are impeccable. It is stunning that a hotel build 40 +years ago is still in such great shape. The lobby is impressive and inviting. Highly recommended if you can afford. Michael

Will definitely stay here again

When I searched for the hotel,Expedia made it look like I was reserving a room in The Towers at NY Palace. When I got to the hotel our room was actually in the main part of the hotel. (The Towers are much more high end; I had a feeling the rate was too good to be true). So I was disappointed but not surprised; I was annoyed with Expedia for being misleading! But the hotel was lovely, our room was recently remodeled, very large for NYC, nicely appointed and clean. Two issues: I had reserved a king premiere skyline view room and when I went to check in I was told that room wasn't available. It was only when I was insistent that was what I had reserved, they "found" a room for me. Getting a taxi was also a bit of an issue. The line for guests waiting for taxis is disorganized And the taxis aren't lined up the way they are at most NYC hotels. It could be due to the construction in the area. The first time we had to wait a good 10 minutes for the doorman to flag one down for us. One night my husband wasn't feeling well and I went out to meet friends by myself. The doorman completely overlooked me to the man waiting after me but when he realized, he put me in the next taxi. Overall a great visit. Will definitely stay again.

overall had a great stay at The New York Palace. It was very busy when we were checking in but staff were there with bottled water and champagne. The room was clean and spacious and very comfortable. The only thing we found was that staff could have been friendlier. When coming in or leaving the hotel staff did not look happy and barely spoke to us. Staff did not smile or laugh

A bit pricy, still the best hotel I've been to.

Posted Mar 16, 2015
I usually go for a 3 star hotel to save money, but I was going to be in NY for one night and decided it wouldn't be out of my budget to spend a night at the NY Palace, and boy was it worth every penny. This was possibly the nicest hotel I've ever been to, and I can't see why anyone would be dissatisfied with their stay there. Everything just looked so regal, and the room was very spacious and comfortable. I'm definitely going to visit the Palace Hotel again when I come back to NYC, and I'll try for two nights next time.
