“Small room, OK location, Great service”

I had a two queen bedroom and my business partner and I felt like giants inside the room. The hotel has been operating since 1929 according to the signs, so the rooms are smaller, but they shouldn't try to jam two queen sized beds in a room that size. The bathroom was OK in size, but the closet and rest of the room were way too small.

“Nice location but small and old”

Paramount was in the heart of the theater district and a stones throw from Time Square. It was quite loud which is to be expected anywhere in NY. The lobby was interesting and artsy. It was quite dark (I think to strike a mood) but was also quite small and not at all grand. The pictures on line are quite deceiving. Though things were neat and clean our room was very underwhelming and tiny to say the least. The hotel itself was also loud, as if someone were banging pots around. Perhaps because it is old it is poorly insulated. We spent very little time there because we were so busy so it worked for us. Bed and pillows were very comfortable which is important. However, if you are looking for grand, this is not the place for you.

Comment from the hotel's management
Thank you so much for leaving us a review! We are pleased to see that you enjoyed our interesting lobby and comfortable bed, but we apologize if you found the room to be too small. Our landmark hotel is quite old, and we'd like to honor the design by leaving it just as its original builders imagined! However, if you felt uncomfortable, please let us know you were a previous guest, and we will work with you to find a bigger room!

“Great Experience”

This hotel was in the most convenient location, the employees were very friendly and helpful and the room was very clean. I was more than satisfied. My room was quite small, however that was not an issue since I spent most of my time outside. I would definitely stay there again.

Area recommendations
I cannot recommend just one area. The city needs to be experienced in its entirety. I strongly recommend seeing a Broadway show. It is a great experience that will be remembered always.
When to go
The tree lighting in Rockefeller Center is the perfect time to go to the city. There are a lot of people but the beauty is unsurpassed.

“groovey times square getaway”

sweet stay in the paramount. So convenient to all the times square attractions and really groovey feel about the place inside. The parking and bell hop service is the best not to forget the front desk girls, they were great.

Area recommendations
Manhatten. There are so many things to experience and do.
When to go
deffinately go Thanksgiving through New Years. The energy is amazing this time of year. Youll never experience anything like it anywhere else.

“The Paramount is losing its flair.”

Too many tour groups hanging around in the lobby, which would be OK if they weren't all on their iPods; the lounge was dead on a Saturday night. My 6th floor room was gray and 'shabby', but in a sorta cool, Chelsea Hotel way. Everything worked fine, but then there wasn't much in the room to go wrong. I liked that there wasn't the usual 'Marriott' collection of fridge, microwave, coffee maker, etc. I especially liked having a radio with iPod/ iPhone adapter. Nice, fast and numerous elevators - I hate losing 5 mins. waiting for an elevator in the typical NYC hotel when I could be out on the street - That's why one's in the city, right?

Area recommendations
Chelsea, SoHo, Greenwich Village, TriBeCa - art galleries!
Getting around
Take cabs - don't be scared, you won;t be robbed or kidnapped. They're cheap and worth the cost to save valuable time in this vibrant place. You'll get the feeling of life as a New Yorker by using cabs to jump around the city. Exception: At rush hour, absolutely DO NOT enter a cab on a cross town street; walk to and only get in on avenues, and only at those heading in the direction of your destination.

“"Good things come in small packages"”

The room was small and and the water pressure could have been better, but if you are going to the theatre or want the excitement of Times Square, this is a great hotel. Shpend a bartender in the Library Bar helped make the whole trip better with very attentive service and information about getting around town. I had dinner in the Library Bar and was very pleasantly surprised with the chefs choice's of courses and cocktails to compliment the meal.

Area recommendations
Mid Town is an excellent place to stay when in New York. You are within walking distance to many NYC attractions including Times Square, Central Park and Rockefeller Center. Do yourself favor and visit the "Top of the Rock" for a breathe taking view of the city. Also it is pretty easy to get around the town with subway stops and taxi's everywhere. If you've never been you might want to take a city tour bus to kind of get to know your way around. Hotel staff can help with subway directions. Yes it's noisy and there are colorful characters around but that city is Alive!

“Wonderful Experience NYC Finest !”

Paramount Hotel in NYC was wonderful. The location was excellent, the Hotel was very clean. The staff was very helpful and polite. I can not give any negative feedback whatsoever!! I must say that everytime I walked in I was pleased over and over again. The rooms were very kept up with, everyday housekeeping came in to clean and did a excellent job. The location was literally around the corner from Times Sq. We will definately be back to visit NYC and will stay at Paramount Hotel !

Area recommendations
The Times Square area was nice, very busy though. The Macys area was also very good for shopping!
Getting there
Take the yellow cab from JFK , we figured this out after spending almost $100 on a " limo service" which consisited of a out dated Lincoln Towncar.
Getting around
The most cost efficient way to get around would be the Subway. I would suggest to get a subway map and study . This will turn out really helpful.
Dining
Thanksgiving Dinner at the Marriott / Crossroads was wonderful. The food was great and the enviroment was peaceful.
Events and shows
The Radio City Rockettes Christmas Spectacular was a amazing show , my 6 year old daughter loved it. Our view from Premium seating was amazing!

“Over priced and over-rated”

The overall impression of this hotel was dark and somber, somewhat sinister, I have to say. The lobby was so dark and often had people who seemed to be just loitering around there. The room was tiny and the bathroom very uncomfortable. I cannot believe this hotel was rated 4 stars. The decor was interesting, especially in the restaurants upstairs, but the service was quite mediocre.
