Central location.

Pros: The size of the rooms big for New York. The walk in shower. The general feeling of it being of a bygone age.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Excellent location with Central Park across the road. Broadway within walking distance. Subway nearby.
Overall a very pleasant experience. Small problem with room service which we did not order, but it was quickly rectified.

Pros: Die Lage am Central Park.
Service ok, aber für ein Hotel mit diesem Namen mehr als enttäuschend. Die Aufmerksamkeit des Hotelpersonals war sehr unterdurchschnittlich, eher 2 als 5 Sterne. Es ist alles extrem überteuert und sein Geld nicht wert.

Pros: The concierge, reception, management and the room staff were very helpful, attentive and obliging.
Cons: The door-man service. Not very helpful in terms of cabs/touts. Perhaps too busy. Maybe needs a supplementary resource at high traffic times.
Luxury hotel, excellent position, appropriately priced.

When a brand name doesn't mean in real quality.

Cons: Quality check of the room equipment.
The hotel is great and rooms very spacious, even if we were expecting more lobby space, it seems part of the space has been sacrificed to allow the private residence lobby and other services: when you enter you have this big empty room then you have to enter on a side door at your left walk on another room dedicated to as a bar and then you reach the registration desk close the elevators. Our stay was puzzled by several malfunctions in the room: The tv was not working, very time it was switched on we had to call a technician to set up the correct HDMI input, at the third time I gave up and we used our laptop to entertain ourself. The temperature regulator of the shower did not work properly, my wife had a semi cold shower, and I super hot one. The drain of the sink was very slow compelling myself to wash and rinse it several time (i'm shaving myself with a razor). The last one the guest to the next door were extremely loud, it seemed they were inside the the room with us, they laughed and shouted for at least one hour around 1:30 AM. The problem the room had a communication door and the sound insulation was not very effective. Overall considering the price I have spent I really do not think I will come back again. Recently I have been to the Waldorf Astoria, even if is older all the equipments were working fine and the lobby still maintain the wow effect you expect from this kind of hotels, no wonders the President stays at the Waldorf...

Overlooking Central Park

Pros: The hotel is an historic landmark and part of the tourist trail, all the staff are incredibly helpful, even booking our return seats with the airline,
Cons: Nothing.
Location: The food hall below the hotel is a great way of eating in and trying lots of different styles of food without leaving the hotel
For the price we paid' we were expecting a lower standard of room, we soon realised they don't have a lower standard of room and that we just had a great deal. If you want to spoil yourself this is the place to go, everything they do they do well!

Pros: proximity. comfort
Although we generally enjoyed our stay, in the luxurious surroundings of the Plaza, there are a few minor negative comments. On arrival, we received a warm welcome, and as the trip was to celebrate my wife's 50th, they had left a cake in the room, which was lovely_top marks for that! The room was excellent, and bed very comfortable. The bathroom was huge, and choice of powerful shower, or hot bath. however, by day three, the toilet stopped working, but once reported, fixed whilst we were out. However, on our last night, the same problem occurred. When we reported this during check out, the response was a curt hmmff! Sorry, but would expect more from such a prestigious establishment. On the whole, staff were generally polite. Another minor issue, was that on day two, we were desperate to phone home, and could not get through to UK. This despite several calls to concierge. Eventually sent Butler service, who was also unable to resolve. However, after much ado, which involved the Butler Service Manager, it transpired that our room had not been linked to allow calls (felt this took too long for them to realise. Having said this, the Butler Manager was excellent, and warned us the cost of even a short call would be very costly (extortionate in fact!). He went on to order us a phone card, on his own internet address, and wavered cost of the initial call _ excellent service.

Hotel Plaza

Pros: The bed
Cons: As in my experience
Location: Very central on 5th Avenue so everything was close
The Hotel Plaza looks very tired now, the years have caught up with it, the staff whilst very willing to please I feel are now too formal for this day and age, the bed was out of this world for comfort

Pros: スタッフの対応、ホテルの設備。
Location: ホールフーズ(スーパー)も徒歩圏にあり、地下鉄の駅(N・Q・R 線)も近く便利な立地でした。5thアベニューのお買いものにも便利でした。
何もかも素晴らしいホテルでした。日本人の女性コンシェルジュの方がいらして、詳しい説明も日本語で受けられて、安心しました。清掃や他のスタッフの教育も行き届いて、とても気持ちよく過ごせました。今回でNYは4回目ですが、今まで滞在したNYのホテルとは格の違いを感じました。朝食も美味しく、地下のフードコートもとても充実していました。すべてにおいて一流でした。
