		Ranging from 475-500 square feet, Plaza Rooms are located on floors 5-10, and showcase Louis XV design, 1 king bed, a sitting area with a table, 1 or 2 armchairs, a wall-mounted flat-screen TV, and a writing desk and chair. The bathroom includes a tub, shower, marble vanity, and 24-karat gold-plated fixtures. Wireless and wired Internet access is available for a surcharge.

Deluxe Room


		Located on floors 5-10, spacious Deluxe Rooms range from 500-550 square feet, and offer 1 king bed. Each Deluxe Room is richly decorated in Louis XV style, and has a sitting area with a wall-mounted flat-screen TV, a table and 2 armchairs, and a writing desk and chair. The bathroom includes mosaic tiles and a marble vanity, and most Deluxe Rooms have a tub with separate shower. Wireless and wired Internet is available for a surcharge.

Deluxe Rose Suite


		Situated on floors 11-19, these serene suites, ranging from 700-800 square feet, offer a courtyard or city view and are decorated in Louis XV style. The open concept features 1 king bed and a large sitting area with coffee table, chairs, desk, and a wall-mounted flat-screen TV. An in-room butler pantry includes a microwave, wet-bar, under-counter refrigerator, and butler services. The large bathroom has a custom tub and 24-karat gold-plated fixtures. Wireless and wired Internet access is available for a surcharge.

Edwardian Suite


		Located on floors 11-19, Edwardian Suites range from 950-1,100 square feet and have 1 king bed in a separate bedroom. The Louis XV sitting room features a sofa, club chairs, coffee table, and desk, as well as a separate powder room. Additional amenities include a butler pantry with microwave, wet-bar, under-counter refrigerator, and butler services. French doors from the bedroom open to a master bath with marble mosaic tiles, vanity, and tub. Wireless and wired Internet access is also available for a surcharge.

Oak Room - A New York legend restored to its original grandeur. Oak-paneled room in the German Renaissance style. Opened in 1907 as "The Men's Bar."

Oak Bar - Quintessential Manhattan bar. Club setting with Central Park views, dark-sable oak walls, leather chairs, and the original cityscape murals by Everett Shinn.

The Champagne Bar - The world's finest champagnes served in the afternoon and evening. Freshly baked pastries and extensive array of specialty coffees in the morning. Spectacular setting in The Plaza's new Fifth Avenue lobby. Open daily.

The Rose Club - Located on two levels overlooking the new Fifth Avenue lobby. Cocktails, appetizers, light gourmet fare. Open daily, 11 AM till late evening.

The Palm Court - Open for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, under the luminous stained glass laylight. An a la carte brunch menu is offered on Sundays. Cocktails and children’s menus are available for special events in the evening.

Central Park, across from the hotel, encompasses 843 acres of meadows, woods, cliffs, ravines, gardens, paths, and lakes in an emerald setting. Popular walking and running routes include Central Park Drive (closed to traffic during scheduled hours) and the path around the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir. The Loeb Boathouse, on a picturesque lake, rents rowboats and bicycles. The Wollman Rink offers ice-skating in the winter, the Victorian Gardens Amusement Park during the warmer months, and splendid views of the park and city year-round.

“Very unpleasant”

The hotel required metal detectors for all guests due to a VIP guest who was at the hotel for several days. So each time one went to the fitness room or to breakfast at the hotel, we were required to go through the metal detectors. The lobby was filled with security men and an occasional guard dog. In addition the roomservice was abysmal and there were long waits for the elevator when the VIP guests were using it. We were not forewarned of the conditions and merely told two days out of the 5 days that there would be an increase in security. It seemed more like a police state rather than a luxurious and restful hotel.

“A Treasure”

Truly a fantastic experience. The staff treats you like royalty. I had always wanted to stay at The Plaza and decided to surprise my wife with this reservation. Great location for most any traveler. All the stores on 5th Ave are near, Central Park across the street, and Time Square is a short walk also. I tip my hat to the entire staff. We loved our stay and will return soon.

Area recommendations

5th Ave is great for shoppers. We always enjoy Time Square. Alot of excitement there. Central Park provides some peace to a city with plenty of traffice stress. Go to the Bronx to see the new Yankee Stadium. Best stadium I've been in.

Must see

Yankee Stadium is beautiful. Even a non-baseball fan could find this ballpark a fantastic experience.

Events and shows

The Lion King is one show my wife and I could watch on every trip to NY. This time we chose Driving Miss Daisy. I at first was skeptical but it was a great show and would recommend to everyone. James Earl Jones was the lead actor so that made it that much more special for me.

“Average experience with a touch of ostentatiousness...”

In my view this hotel sells rooms based on reputation... Suite was expensive and average - really early old world deco. Provided microwave - but no utensils, crockery, kettle or cups? Not quite sure what we were expected to do with the microwave alone? One particular doorman was offensive when it came to gratuity for every task he performed. Chose to rather go hail a cab around the corner rather than deal with his attitude. Breakfast was expensive and very standard,, although a real experience to dine in the opulence. Concierge service was great.
