Nice hotel next to Central ParkPosted Nov 18, 2013
Pros: Great location and very friendly staff.
Cons: Better flooring in bathrooms.
Location: Right next to Central Park and shopping on 5th Avenue.
Excellent and very helpful and friendly staff, beautiful lobby and dining areas, and prime location. While the shower was fantastic, the bathrooms need updating. Had a very pleasant experience and will stay there again when visiting NYC. Highly recommend hotel.

Stay at St Regis insteadPosted Sep 29, 2013
Pros: Todd English Food Hall
When paying a significant amount per night for a suite, it's attention to details that matter and there is a certain expectation that the standards will meet the price. The Plaza was lacking in services that are standard for other high end hotels, e.g. butler service, welcome amenity/champagne, concierge service etc. It would appear The Plaza's best days are behind her.

Very convenient to everything uptownPosted Sep 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
We were there a year ago and the entire oproperty was covered in scaffolding. This year - no change. It distracts somewhat from the overall imipression of the hotel. I don't think the hotel exudes its former opulance, but still a nice place to stay.

Plaza Hotel NYCPosted Aug 30, 2013
Pros: Excellent, early 20th century high end hotel experice. Fully renovated on the inside. First class everything. Spotless facilities.
Cons: Streaming the "Great Gatsby" segment on the tv was a bit cheesey..the Plaza was in the movie, but playing the segment should be beneath a 5 star
Location: Wonderful to central park & Rockerfeller center
It was a nice hotel. You pay for the nice. Excellent service. Had small issues with technology in the room....the phone chimed every 3 minutes, flashed lights, and presented the message "upgrading firmware - load failure" starting at 7am.....this was only solved by disabling the phone which made reporting the issue impossible from the room. Construction noise would have been a big deal if we had planned on sleeping in especially If I was focused on how much I was paying for the room......it would have been unacceptible at a Holiday Inn at a fifth the price, but we were out of hte room most of the time. The construction had the windows covered in scaffolding and a mesh, that when viewed from outside the hotel, had an image on it that resembled the hotel......to hide the construction appearance. The somewhat cheesey streaming of the "Great Gatsby" trailer on the room tv everytime you turned it on served to highlight that the hotel was featured in the film, but made me consider how toursity the hotel was for the money. Would most five star hotels want to highlight that ? Pleasant experice overall.

Revisiting the Plaza for a Special OccasionPosted Aug 28, 2013
Pros: The luxury and the style. I especially love breakfast in the Palm Court.
Cons: Complete the renovation of the Oak Room and re-open it. Maybe make it a little lighter.
Location: We had dinner at the Met, with a walk through the Impressionists on the second floor.
It was the perfect way to celebrate my 75th Birthday and start a new book with my friend.

Pros: My favorite thing to do is enjoy a cocktail in the lobby Champagne Bar after a busy day of shopping and sight seeing.
Location: adjacent to Central Park, 5th Ave. shopping and close to the theatre district.

I enjoy my stay, but I think that in there service the staff still needs to work on.
