“Water Issues”
I stayed in double with shower room but the water in the sink did not work and dripped out brown sludge. So I used the trash can to fill the sink with water from the shower which is not so bad except for the radiator heating which sounded like a band of pipe bangers with cronic insomnia and large hammers. Needless to say my sleep was interupted. I complained about the water isses the next day but the follwoing night was not different. Be careful, its cheap but you get what you pay for
“Not what I expected”
When they say 'Pod' --- they really mean Pod.....very small. It would be okay for one traveller but I shared with my daughter.... Also very noisy. We had a room with our own bathroom (thank goodness) but there were rooms that had to use community showers and toilets. Too noisy with people in the halls at all hours. Felt like I was in a college dorm - 2am and people talking loud right outside my room!
“miserable experience”
Expensive and not worth it
“orrible....”
orrible and expensive
“a to expensive good hostel, but never a 3 star hotel”
I used the same filters i take for american cities since 12 years (4star hotels, double bed rooms, internet, good reviews). I had to downgrade to 3 star because it was a expensive day to sleep in Manhatten. I never had a problem with that because i never did get a hostel, when i filtered out a 3 star hotel. This was the worst 3 star hotel i ever had. The reasons: we had no bath, no toilette, no shower in our room, i ordered a double bed room and did get a bunk bed, the room has been so small that it has not been possible that both of us moved at the same time inside the room. May be i would have seen it when i did spend more time with visiting the hotel pages but i did never get something like this as i ordered a double bed room in a 3 star hotel. The room was clean, also the baths outside. I think they cleaned them at 2 am - so it was clean but it was not possible to sleep at this time. It was the most expensive hotel on my trip but it was not worth it. I also was in the Westin, the Radisson and a Hilton hotel. All of them have been cheaper and much better.
“Not bad”
good location clean nice roof wiev. Only the some room has the bathroom outdoor. I recommend it. nice place.
“Go "Pod".”
Great location and great value. Who needs a giant room? Shared bathroom was fine. After I was back on the other side of the country, I realized I had left my i phone charger under the bedside table. I called housekeeping, and they are sending it to me at no cost. Go Pod.
“Modern Chic with Decent Value”
I would definitely recommend The Pod. It's a few blocks off of Midtown, so the location is good. It has a nice garden courtyard, rooftop patio, and design elements. They even have a cafe and iPads to use in the lobby. The rooms were clean and had cool bathrooms. The only negatives were hallway noise and lack of privacy in bathroom if you are with someone in a room due to a clear window, which was kind of odd. Prices are probably in line with the rest of NYC for this range of hotel but could have been just a little bit lower to really make it a find.
“Just what you need to stay in Manhattan”
The room I took was a queen pod, the room is not so big it's small but it does have everything. If you stay here make sure you have your own bathroom, there are some with shared ones. Everything is very clean. I'm glad of having stayed in this hotel. I strongly recomend if you come to NY then stay un Manhattan, it's worth it. Lots of people think staying in NJ is better but you'll have to pay a lot in taxis. It has a fair price.
“will go back”
they need bigger and better quality pillows, for the amount they charge it's ok no big deal!!
