Great old school feel

Posted Apr 7, 2015
It had a great old school feel which was great. The room was clean, they had a coffee maker in the room with real cups. They also had two huge cases of free Greek Yogurt. It was expensive to have the hotel park our car. I will go again.

Arty, charming, staying with friends, quirky

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: See above
Cons: I like the fact there are old mismatching carpets -like staying with friends - however, stick a rug or runner over them to perhaps to avoid moaners.
Location: Go to Grand Central Station indoor market and the station itself.
If you enjoyed the film The Grand Budapest Hotel you should stay here. Its neither grand, nor in Budapest. It is a hotel with old charm, quirkiness and super bathrobes. We slept snuggled under a massive soft duvet and slept without waking until 8am. Bliss. The furnishings are an eclectic collection of beautiful antique pieces, and the pictures follow themes and give the rooms extra flavour. The front desk it beautiful with wooden postal cubbies behind it. My daughter said it was like staying at a friends house, not one of those modern fancy hotels where every room is the same. I have enjoyed those types of rooms too. I will certainly return here. It is a thirty minute walk to Penn Station, and five minute walk to Grand central. We made wonderful discoveries of shops and boutiques as we wandered to fifth avenue, and Broadway. We loved our stay. The staff are fabulous. They happily flagged a taxi for us when we came to leave. Try it. Enjoy it.

Quirky, comfortable, family-owned

Much better than nearby chain hotels. Bigger rooms, super friendly staff, and art exhibits. Free yogurt and granola in the lobby 24-7. I travel to the UN for work often and have stayed in closet-sized rooms at chains like the Hilton and Hampton Inn before, Roger Smith was a pleasant change.

ホテルにチェックイン前に到着したが、愛想良く応対され、2部屋のうち一部屋を開けて頂き、荷物を置いてもらい、また少し休むことができた。

I enjoyed my brief stay here. My room felt warm and welcoming--not to mention wonderfully spacious. It's a great respite from the bustle of midtown and typical big name hotels.
