Good location. Worn-out rooms

Posted Jul 29, 2015
Pros: Location. Clean
Cons: Musty smell in room; internet is not free; no fridge in the room.
Location: Location is very good. Most places are easily reachable from it.
The hotel is in midtown Manhattan so, it's easy to go places. I booked it at a discounted rate which made it worthwhile.

very well located

Cons: Free wi-fi
Good welcome at the check-in. The staff made the most to find two adjacent rooms with some city view.

Beautiful classic hotel.

Rooms are a little small for the U.S. And no coffee makers in rooms. Extra fee for WiFi annoying. I love the lobby and bar areas! Classic vintage elegance. This and the location and price are the reasons to stay here.

Weekend Get Away

Posted Jul 27, 2015
My husband and I planned a weekend get away with his brother and girlfriend and we able to book a decent rate through Expedia at this historical hotel. Overlal we had a good experience, however, the air conditioning in our room was broken and being that it was the middle of July we could not stay in the room comfortably. The Hotel did end up moving us to another room which was appreciated but would've been better without this little hiccup. Also, upon arrival there was a very large group with children just running around the lobby and trash on the stairs which is not the best first impression of such a highly regarded and historic hotel.

Excellent hotel & value - some small issues

Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: Staff, lobby, clean and quite spacious room
Cons: Air conditioning was very noisy. Elevators basically never came or were packed - need a better system?
Location: Beside Central Station, one block from 5th Avenue and just a couple more to Times Sq: perfect NYC location!
We loved this hotel and might stay again. The location was perfect, the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The a/c worked very well but was noisy. We were happy to be on a lower floor for a change so that we could take the stairs: the elevators were very slow!!

Conveniently close to GCS, St Pat's, Midtown

Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: Room was comfortable and clean. Lobby is beautiful. Hotel staff were very nice.
Cons: Luggage holding procedure and elevator efficiency.
Location: Close to grand central station. Walk to St. Patrick's Cathedral and Bryant Park, and Times Square.
Room was nice, view, not so great. Check in was easy. Elevators were slow, had to go up to go down on check out day. Bellhops at luggage hold were slow, only one guy working with plenty of people waiting. Several places close by for cheap eats. Bellmen at the front door were terrific.
