Hotel was a fair standard. Expected better facilities. Felt like a motel. Atmosphere was not created by Roosevelt.

Good location, but old and dirty.

Posted Aug 28, 2014
We were traveling NY around three days, and I was looking for a classic hotel in NY, but this hotel was noting special. When I went to the room, the space was small and the beds were small too. In addition, the bathroom was terrible old and dirty and not any facilities in the room! However, we spent $55 parked car in hotel for a night. It's really expensive, so I won't go here anymore!

Nice Lobby...Great Location...Awful Rooms

Posted Aug 27, 2014
You can definitely tell upon entering The Rooselevelt that it was a beautiful hotel back in it's day...the impressive lobby with great architecture confirms this. The location is great offering walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants...the downside is the room. If you are looking for a hotel with a luxurious room with a nice bathroom...the rooselvelt is NOT for you. The bedroom is average and the bathroom leaves much to be desired. Our first night my husband noticed that our comforter was dirty...the housekeeping staff was kind to take care of it and did a great job cleaning it. Considering the rooms aren't cheap and that there are other hotels in the area with comparable room pricing with much nicer rooms...we were disappointed in our hotel selection for this trip. The WIFI is not included...with is another negative. On the flip side though...the bellman are fabulous!! My husband and I love relaxing after a long day of walking in the city...and the rooselvelt didn't offer a very comfortable room to do this. Also, this hotel is a HUGE tourist hotel...be prepared for big crowds when in the lobby.

great location on Madison and very grand entrance

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Location and grandeur on the ground floor/entrance hall. was also good value compared to other hotels in similar location
Cons: make the lifts faster. make the place less dull by brightening up the corridors and rooms (ground floor and entrance is fine)
Location: great location - grand central is 5 mins, Times Sq/Broadway/theatre is 15 mins and Rockefeller is 10 mins.
hotel is old and tired, and too busy. lifts take ages and , although the staff were generally friendly, they didn't have time . rooms were typically New York small and the d├ęcor is too dull and drab. feels a bit depressing. our room smelt musty and perhaps a bit damp....and yes I tried to complain but the staff on front desk and concierge always had a queue. I gave up in the end.

Just OK.

Pros: Location
Cons: The bathrooms need renovating.
The hotel was very convenient to all the places we needed to go for the weekend. The room was fine. The bed very comfortable. The bathroom...not so much. We thought that since what we read about the hotel and a completed renovation that the bathroom was included. It wasn't. We had to fix the toilet, the grout in the shower was not clean, the shelf over the toilet wobbled so much we were afraid to put anything on it for fear of loosing in the toilet. The electric outlets didn't hold a plug and we couldn't close the drapes because the a/c would have been behind them. Location was great but there are other hotels in the area that may have been better.

Excellent Location!

Pros: Its location.
Cons: The water pressure in the bathroom is not very strong.
Location: It is close to Grand Central Station, Times Square, Macys, Rockeffeller Center, etc.
A very interesting hotel! The cheking in and check out were efficient! Ideal for people looking to stay in downtown Manhattan, close to Times Square! Its decor is reminiscent of the 20s!

Never again!

Filming was taking place I was shushed about 100 times. Room smelled horribly and there was no hot water! When I reported all this to the supervisor he replied "sorry!" Worst hotel stay of my life!
