Best Birthday Weekend Ever

Posted Jul 14, 2015
I came to NYC from LA to celebrate my 21st birthday and I could not be happier that I stayed at The Standard. I extended my stay last minute and was able to stay in the same room without hassle. Not to mention we got a complimentary upgrade our first night and a great deal! Staff is so lovely and accommodating...I plan to stay here every time I come to the city! Thanks for a great birthday weekend guys!

Warm welcome!

Posted Jul 8, 2015
I had just arrived in the city and was staying at the Standard for a couple of days while my apartment was getting ready. Arrived at 2am. The bar was just about to close but Danielle could tell I needed a drink and looked after me! Hotel staff were ALL very friendly and helpful! Room was small but clean and offered a great view of the city! Great location!

Stylish digs and great location.

Posted Jul 6, 2015
Pros: Location, style, VIEWS.
Cons: Some privacy in bathrooms with windows.
The building is quite a piece of art with lots of glass (even in the bathroom). We had two rooms (the Skyline Studio and Deluxe King) near the top of the building. The views were amazing and great for the 4th of July fireworks. The rooms were big enough but not very roomy (typical of most NYC hotels). The cafe downstairs offers outdoor seating and is quite nice overall.

Noisy, but comfortable furnishings

Posted Jul 6, 2015
Pros: Location, bed
Cons: security
Location: Washington Square Park, lots of great restaurants, convenient subway transportation
Everything about the room was great-- really comfortable bed, bathroom amenities were fine, pretty standard everything else. Really the only drawback to the experience was the noise. Lots of noisy guests, and thin walls, will wake you up in the middle of the night-- expect it. It doesn't seem like there is any elevator security (you don't swipe your key in the elevator to ONLY get to your floor), so anyone (whether they're guests or not) can get to any floor-- intentionally or accidentally. Which is worrisome and unsafe.

Great view!

Pros: See above.
Cons: See above.
Location: Very convenient location close to subways, restaurants and Wholefoods. Soho, Nolita, East Village all very close.
I stayed here for 2 nights and then a further 8 nights. I was given a room upgrade to a high level room with a fantastic view east and north. Was amazing at night. Room wasn't very different to the other one, in fact the bathroom wasn't as big but overall my stay was very comfortable and enjoyable and I appreciated the room upgrade. My only very small criticism was that there was no iron and ironing board in the room but they were available when you asked; there was also no top flat sheet on the bed, just a fitted sheet and doona - very European but not comfortable and very unusual for the US. However, this was supplied on request. Staff were very obliging and pleasant. The garden where you can get a drink and small plates was also great.

This hotel meets all of your expectations. The staff was warm and welcoming and very professional. The accommodations were spacious, clean, had all the upgrades you need, and make you want to stay for months. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting NYC!

This is a great hotel with wonderful restaurants, great staff, incredible views and very comfortable rooms. It's also a great place for the young and hip.

so-so

Posted May 23, 2015
Cons: rooms are too sterile. need new rugs. weird magazines in room
Small room with view of wall. Dirty rug. No bathtub and shower door was hard to open once inside. No shower cap. The best thing was that it was quiet. Bed was comfortable.
